Recently I found that the back of the driver seat where you are sitting at now has some clicking sound comming out. Its not always happen, its only happened when car was riding in a rough road. Any one has this problem? Please give me some input before I bring it in to my dealer on Monday. Also, when I moved a bit while sitting on it for a while, sometime I can hear the the clicking sound too. MBTECH, do you have any idea on this issue?

Do you have heated seats? I've noticed this as well and so far all I can determine is it's coming from the inside of the seat itself. My thoughts at this point are leaning towards the heating element in lumbar portion of the seat.

Recently had a similar noise from the driver's side... very sporatic. Took it to local dealer expecting a "we don't hear anything now" type of response but, surprisingly, they fixed it A-OK. The work order came back with "removed seat and replaced lower seat frame" along with an itemization of about 5 small parts replaced.

I have heard this clicking also. I find it coming from the lower front of the drivers seat. Dealer had it for a week (waiting on parts for the kinked multi-contour vacuum) and could never hear it. Uggh. They should not hire deaf people to listen for clicks, rattles and squeaks.

Could you post more detail about what your dealer did so that I can take it to mine? Thanks.

Hi guys, just came back from the dealer and they did took a test drive with me and they did hear the small clicking sound out from the driver seat. Not all the times you will hear it, but once in a while. My dealer said he had to replace the whole driver seat due to the noise is comming out from inside the seat itself and its not from the coil spring system under the driver seat. I guess its a common problem to C320. I do have the heated seat option. Hope this will fix the problem.

Anyway, while I was waiting for the service guy to test drive my car, I heard that there are some known problem about the center vent clicking sound which caused by the faulty electric motor. So, if you guys have this clicking sound (like a big relay sound), do take your car to the dealer for a replacement of the electric motor.

Per the request from patronus, here is the itemized list of parts replaced by my dealer to fix the creaking/clicking problem:

6 - rivets - 003-990-24-97
1 - screw - 910105-008041
1 - pin - 203-267-04-74
1 - handle - 210-267-02-40
1 - seat adjuster - 203-910-15-36

It sounds like you new a new seat frame to me. Common problem on Benzes, but mostly CLK and E-classes.

Just came back from the dealer. I have the same problem on my 2002 C320. They said the drivers seat frame has to be replaced. They ordered the parts and set up an appointment with a loaner. The service representative said this would take 1 or 2 days to fix.
