soon as my warranty ends...this happens :(
so i have a 2003 C320 and im having a slight issue with it. any feedback is appreciated plz help!
every time i turn on the engine i get this loud clicking/popping noise that sounds approx every 8 sec for about 1 min. the sound comes from directly underneath the steering wheel or to the left of it i took out the side panel of the dashboard to take a peak but i couldnt see anything wrong. i also took a look under the hood but theres no sound coming from there. sometimes even after i turn off my engine i get the same minute of clicking/popping noises so i think it might have something to do with the fans maybe. i dunno. as a side note , im not sure if this has any relevance, my ac is extremely colder than usual since ive had this problem.
anybody ever have this problem or have some advice for me. would be much appreciated. TY!

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Sounds like a broken actuator on the AC system. There are several doors that open or close to direct the flow of cooled or heated air. The actuators have stepper motors. These motors turn 1.8 to 7.5 degrees for each pulse from the CANbus. A feedback device tells CANbus when the desired position is reached. The motor is seeking to move a door that has broken its linkage. It tries for a bit, then stops turning. A linkage kit is available, but the labor to put it on is expensive.
The reason your "equipment" is turning is blue is probably the heat mix door is closed, and the system wants to mix a bit of warm air with the cool air, but can't.

i have not got enough money to fix it.
its just going to have to wait..
but i've searched for the problem.. there is already another post on the issue.
If you find a way of fixing it without paying for it.. let me know

This forum ....search stepper motor for good results but dash noise, clicking, AC problems etc. all have good information. Not an easy job but worth saving at least $700. A redesigned/reinforced flap actuator arm usually is the fix but stepper motors also have been found bad.
