C240 Disc changer not working
I have a 2001 C240 and I have the cd changer and when ever I fill it up and put he magazine in the thing the radio display reads "Magazine Empty" i am using the cds that i made from media player. Can someone please help me making this work, thanks.

the problem is not the cd. otherwise it would've said NO CD
Make sure the magaz. is in there correctly and that the door closes.
did this just start happenning or has it been like that since you bought it?

this happened when i bought the car preowned. my dad bought the car and he never used the cd only radio so we never looked into it but now i have the car and i need the cd...the mag is in there it clicks and everything....and i hear sounds like 4 or 5 or 6 times and than it says "magazine empty." so i dunno...ive tried store bought cds ive tries cds that i made...i just dont kno wat to do any more.

I downgraded to a VW, it's still German though
I found this is a common problem in these cars. Mine has died a few times. They always replace the 'elevator motor' and it works. I wonder if it gets stuck or is broken. Either take apart the CD player and find what is binding, or take it to the shop. I tried resetting and all sorts of combinations to fix it, but the tech says they always break. The 6 disc changer is crap in these cars.

Where are you located? You can find used ones fairly cheap these days. I got mine fixed a few weeks back.

Ummm, stay away from those jokers! The dealer will probably not work with you and just want to replace it. If you want, I can get you details on where mine was fixed and get it to you. That is if you don't mind sending it away. They are a very reputable audio shop here in the KC area.

This just happened to my CLK 2 days ago. I am going to the dealer Thursday and i will let you know exactly what they say as far as the main issue/what breaks.
I lucked out.... 980 miles left on the warranty.
