the 16 year olds and the high school kids on this site are idiots.

first off to the OP, do you really think all those things you were cited for are really considered "mods"? give me a break.

1. no license plates. geez, it's really hard to get a screwdriver and put the plates on, that'll cost a whole NOTHING and take a grand 5 minutes of time. it even looks like you have a front plate bracket already drilled in. if you had no bracket, all you would need to do is to affix them is use zip ties or velcro.

2. blue indicator lights. wow, that's ANOTHER hard and expensive mod to revert. only cops are allowed to have blue lights in the front. that doesn't even matter b/c blue indicators looks like I think the cop did you a favor there. and how difficult is it to change bulbs? a good 3 minutes?

3. tint. he's only getting you for window tint in the front windows. have it taken off, have it put back on, it won't cost you more than $90 for two windows.

Shake's idea was stupid. to start, where are you going to get a "fake vin" plate? who is going to make it? are you going to pry the vin plaque off of your car to glue it to the other "donor" car? you do realize that if they see any sign that that has been altered or tampered, it gives them probable cause to search the entire car, and who knows what our genius OP had/has in his car. also, you do know that the vin appears in multiple locations throughout the car, right?

and to the OP, you were probably asking for it. I live and work in the same area as you. I've been pulled over by the Beverly Hills PD (for speeding)... I had tint in my front windows, no front license plate (and no bracket at all), no amber sidemarkers (rather they were painted black), a drop and a loud exhaust on my M and they didn't say SQUAT about it. maybe you were hassling the cop and being a smart *** and he decided to throw the book at you.

suck it up and stop whining. you act as if your car has all these crazy mods that would cost a lot and would be irreversible. I know people with EVO's and STi's who have been hit WAAAAAY harder and have had to do major engine and technical work to return their cars back to stock to have **** written off. this is nothing.

I concur. these kids can't even spell or speak properly. maybe their parents should have invested in some tutoring rather than buying them a car.

I've been busted for tinted window 3 times. The first time I took the tint off and got the ticket cleared. Then in the same day as the cop wrote it off I tinted it again. The second and third time I just paid the fine which was like $110, woulda cost the same to take it off and then retint the window again.
As for the front license plate, I have no bracket or holes in my bumper and the last time I got pulled over by CHP, he went to school with my sis and let me go. Just pay the fine on the fix it tickets unless it's something easy to fix or if you have a special friend or know somebody that can write them off.....do that!!

Seriously, all of your violations could have been avoided and can be avoided in the future. I am a prosecutor here in Chicago and believe me, if you try to get over, you will get caught, and it's not worth it. We check any and all documents related to the violation, from calling the insurance company to see if the owner is in compliance to checking with the sec. of state to make sure the lic. plate matches the vin. My judge has sent people to jail on the spot for trying to get over.

Pay the fines and comply. Honestly, it's not worth trying to get over. The money that you spend for non compliance can be used for legal mods.

Just one man's opinion.

Good luck!!!

For example.....

Was the amount an exact replica of $110.00? Or was is approximately $110.00? Why is the word "like" in that sentence???

Never know when it can come back and bite you.

Cause the ticket was so long ago, I think that was the fine I paid at the time!

Yeah. I got the meaning of what you said. Scroll up a little and you'll see a few posts regarding speaking, or typing, in proper English. I hear the word "like" come out of people's mouth every fourth word, and I just want to smack them in the side of their head with their dirty flip-flop that they are wearing because they are evidently too damn lazy to tie some shoes. Ok.....breathe....

I don't mean to be a dick, but, this whole thread pisses me off.

For the ones who this thread seems to **** off and anger then my suggestions is do not open it or reply. I did not want to do anything illegal so i just fixed everything and had it signed off. The Sherrif took less than a minute to "inspect" the car.

Who really cares? The point is your car has illegal kit on it / not on it.

Suggesting to swap out VINS is outrageous. I dont know how old the poster (07C63AMG) is, but do you really want to get in far more serious trouble and have that on your record? What exactly is this help and advice encouraging?

Fix it. Properly. Legally.

End of problem.

Sorry, now that I think of it it is a bad idea. I was just saying that if he was already illegal by having a different car there instead of the correct one, I would take the extra precaution. I wouldn't glue it, but I just slide a piece of paper over it. Now that I think of it, it wouldn't work and would probably be a bad idea. Sorry about the post guys.
