Need suggestion for Lambo door kit
Hi, haven't been active lately. A recent update to my car is, I put my car into Importfest 2007 in Toronto and got 3rd place trophie under "Euro/Luxury/Exotic", 2nd place is my friend who drives a IS350 (though i donno why he's under the Euro category as well).
Anyways, I am thinking about doing the Lambo door in the spring time, but i need suggestion as to which brand to buy.
I am looking for one that's decent price, but a good piece. Also I think if the door open in an angle outwards not only straight up, it will look rather nice too, yes?
I've been to www.autoloc.com, and their kits are very expensive, one thing im not sure is what's difference between automatic and remote. If anyone has any info please let me know, thanks!

I looked heavily into this, even had a sponsor discount with Vertical Doors Inc. for $1200 for the kit, yet the $1000 install scared me off.
Here's my info:
Price:
- If you think $1-2K is expensive, do NOT attempt this mod. We drive a Mercedes, not a Honda, so these parts are not mass-market and cheap.
- You'll pay $2500 easily for a good bolt on kit, plus 8hr labour to install.
- The Vertical Doors Inc CLK and W203 sedan kit will both bolt onto the CL203 coupe, the W209 and all W203 models share the same door hinges.
- The AutoLoc kit and others require a lot of drilling, welding or otherwise. The kit may be cheaper, yet you'll pay a LOT more for install, and have something that is NOT reversible.
- Basically be prepared to pay $3-4K to have vertical doors installed properly.
Install requires:
Remove front wheels
Remove fender lining
Remove side skirts
Remove fender
Cut & lengthen wires
Replace hinges and align

thx, ya Peter got 2nd place. I screwed up in the show that I wasn't there when the judge came to evaluate my car. If i was there then i might be able to get 2nd place.
My headlight is Bi-xenon, got it from steve from mbenznl.com, but i think he's always low on stock for the coupe. clear foglight u can get it from dealership. At last, the tinted window, you can do it everywhere, price range from 150 to 300, which the most expensive ones i think they have life time warranty on scratch and stuff

cools, and did you install them yourself? did you have to raise the car up and all and take out the housing or is there a simpler way? and also what kind of bulbs do you use in your fogs? i was going to go to pmall to buy a new set.. i hate the stock yellowish ones..

i took it to Velocity and they took care of everything. Gave them the Prolumen HID kit, Vision Bulb bulb 8000k, clear lens. Then the mechanic there do the install and everything for me. I believe the bumper had to be taken off, also he had to do some re-wiring else the HID fog will flicker.

i would NOT go with the kit, the car is not exactly the right size to have a kit like that, maybe if it was a clk sure, but i think it would look awkward, any one else do one before?
also, i think he meant the Hydraulic kit vs. the normal Lift with your own strength kit, you don't wanna have to lift it up every time your self, hydraulic ones are just a smoother functioning door so to speak.
