Drove a 2007 c230 loaner..
Wow it rides a whole lot better than my 2005. Less road noise and steering is a lot softer. Handling is much improved overall. The black wood grain is a lot classier than the silver trim. It has stock stereo and produced more bass that my HK system. The only thing I didnt like was that it was slower and the engine was too quiet for my taste. Anyone know what changes they made on the suspension?

Theres definite change in suspension. I went over a few speed bumps pretty fast with it and the car didint bounce as much. Also going up my driveway was fairly smooth.

kompressor has a little more tq but i think a v6 with filters/exhaust and tune would take it on the hwy.

yea i do love loaners... i agree the steering is a lot diff, the car actually feels very zippy around the city but getting on the highway sucks... it just doesnt have the power the 320 has esp dealing with ppl that wont let you in

I'm taking my car in on the 12th and we'll see what I get. I booked it in Queensway tho, always went there.
I think it's needed to book in advance to get a loaner, usually about 3 weeks in advance,so you're right
. I don't think they have many loaner cars tho and you have to arrive at your dealership early in order to get one on your service day.

Maybe sometimes it's not a good thing to get a nice loaner car. Specially if it's a better one that yours. Now everytime I drive my car, it irks me that I can hear more road noise and that the steering is stiffer.

i dunno i raced a coupe kompressor off a slow dig and pretty much was neck and neck but i was in third gear and i could feel i was starting to pull and he jus slowed and got behind me.
kompressor has a little more tq but i think a v6 with filters/exhaust and tune would take it on the hwy.

Kompressor Man 7.2sec
Kompressor Auto 7.5sec
2.5 V6 Man 8.0sec
2.5 V6 Auto 8.5sec
You do the math, perhaps the Kompressor did not want to embarrass you
the Komp gives up a bit of Hp but has more torque and weighs in 210lbs lighter (6.1% less); in addition the torque curve is flatter and available at a lower RPM which translates to much better passing grunt.
With all things equal I will take less Hp in favour of more torque

I have a 2007 C280 as a loaner right now and I'm getting very jealous. Going from an 02 C240... the difference is RIDICULOUS. I thought the car was slower than mine originally, until I figured out it was in "C" and not "S" (sport and comfort I believe?). But yea, my car should be ready today and I can honestly say the ONLY thing I miss about it is my exhaust. Other than that I want an 07 now
