Parking brake release problem???

Hi everyone,

Well after a couple of thousand miles on the clock the C is going well, apart from im still not convinced my HK is working properly and a small problem with my parking brake (Handbrake)

Basicly I keep getting the error message on the dash that the parking brake is still on when it isnt!!! the only way to get rid of this message is stop apply the hand brake and then release it again... and it only does this from time to time....

Any of you know an easy fix or have experienced this problem???

Cheers

Matt

I noticed mine did that a few times last month, not sure what the problem was, but haven't experienced it again, I had to do the same thing to rid the red light.... It happened right after I switched back to the stock wheels...

the phisical sensor maybe be loose and or the wires going into the sensor. my sensor was loose, needed to be pressed back into its fitting.

It may be the spring tension for the pedal return. If I get this message, I just lift the e-brake pedal with my foot & the light goes out. Shouldn't happen, but I'm not going to the shop over something like this.

Sounds like the brake release isn't returning all the way....common problem caused by the pbrake mechanism being rusted. You can access it through a panel beneath the rear seat cushion. Search and you'll find pictures.
