need a little help car cranks but no start
2003 c320 4matic 70600 miles
Drove the car to work and to the gym total 70 miles the day before. Went to start it in the morning, I live in NEPA and it was of 21 degrees and it only cranks but will not start. Lights work all electrical works battery good. I guess I'm leaning to a fuel related problem.
The only thing that is has been doing is making a ticking sound out of a little connector with a plug end and two hoses going to it. Its located on the driver side of the engine next to where all the brake line hook into. It has a rubber mount on it and a Connector on top with a silver clip bracket to hold it in.
Does anyone know what that is or what could be the problem?
Thank You

I think troll is Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum with the intention of baiting other users into an argumentative response. I don't know if he knows you or have posted bad stuff in the past.
Anyways, if you can't start your car, typically it's fuel. Put a fuel pressure guage on the fuel rail and try and start the car, you should have about 3 1/1 bar or about 50 PSI, if not it could be a faulty fuel pump, fuel pump relay, gastank empty, rock hit a fuel line and crushed it, anything that would impede the flow of fuel to the engine. Also, what is common is the crank position sensor, sometimes it breaks mildly and the just runs like poo, sometime it won't even start. It's fairly easy to replace and doesn't cost much. It's back on the drivers side on the very rear of the engine just before the bell housing attaches.
