ECU Tune Comparisons?

ECU Tune Comparisons?
What, if any, performance/price differences between ECU upgrades for our cars (mine being the V6 C230)?
EvoSport, SI, etc....
I assume this would void the warranty- but how much would I really be risking? With past American sports cars I've owned- ECU tunes from a reputable tuner- where more or less worry free as far as causing problems. Is that the case with our cars?

can't compare since i only have SI tune on my car...
never had issues with warranty and my car was at the stealership numerous times...
never had issues with ECU tune from SI... :knock:
only comparison i know vs powerchip/evosport is better price for same or better gains...

i noticed that SI was around $150 cheaper and they claim a few more hp and tq. i'd kinda like to see some dyno graphs to see where the power comes on. just because they claim more doesn't mean much- those are just the peaks. i would rather have a tune that has consistant gains across the board, rather than just a little gain followed by a spike somewhere.
not saying that's the case with either tune- i was just curious what a graph looked like.

get a base dyno...
get powerchip tune, run dyno, and return it
get SI tune, run dyno, and return it
based on 2 graphs (ran on same dyno machine), pick the one u like at get it tuned again...

although a good plan-i don't think i want to mess with all that. this car is still going to be slow no matter what. i might as well just save the money and go with SI.

^better plan would be
- buy both SI chip + Powerchip
- go to dyno
- get base map
- install SI chip, get dyno
- install Powerchip, get dyno
- compare all dyno pulls
- return whichever 1 that u don't like
different days and different humidity may yield slightly different figures, or if the final figures were corrected, it may be skewed. Even on the same model of car, it could be different.

probably 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
either way, it's an off the shelf tune- not a tune for my car. granted, i'm sure they've all done their fair share of trials- but eithe way, it's a happy medium tune for everyone- not one particular car and/or climate.
this won't at all be like the tune i had done for my stroked/injected LT1 i had in my drag truck (S10). it was done in person, on a dyno, followed by a trip to the drag stip to do some real time data logging- followed by more tuning.
