2004 C230, a good used car value?

Thinking about trading up the 95 C220 for a 2004 Kompressor. It is a
dealer CPO with 35K on it. Worth it? Not sure what I should offer
the dealer for this particular car, they are asking 23,9, and I dont
think it includes certification. Also, does this year have the maintenance
plan?

The '04's do have more warranty coverages than the 2005's. You get free oil changes I believe. Last time I was at the dealer looking at a CPO car, it had 55k miles on it and it was a 2005. Went for $27,000 out the door. Is your $23,900 before tax and fees?

Expect to pay 10-15% more.

dealer price

yep, the 23.9 is the asking price without being certified and
not including taxes. they also have an 05 with 27K on it for $25.9
I am prepared to offer them 21K certified + taxes, etc. the internet
car guy says he is going to be aggressive since it is the end of the year,
and will offer up a fair deal to take it or leave it. He is estimating our
car at 5-6K since it has low mileage for being 13yo.

I like my 2004.5. Is it a 2004 or 2004.5? The newer 2004 hsa the 5 spoke wheels, C32 style brakes and some other goodies. I've seen them sell on this forum for about $20K private party, so shoot for that. You may have time left on the free maintenance, it's 4 yrs or 50K miles. Find out if it was used as a loaner. Do a carfax or have them show you the carfax as most dealers already subscribe so it doesn't cost them anything.

I wll ask for the carfax, and of course take my info with me. I will probably
walk away tonight and make him stew a little, since there are a few more
days left in the year :-).you can see the car here:

http://www.jamesmotorcompany.com

go to preowned, and it is the 2004 C30wz with 34K miles. grey with
ash interior.

Have you tried Autotraders.com Check their prices of the 2004 C230 Compressor. Where are you located? Privates, if honest, you can get a better deal.

screw the dealer

hahaha, they didn't want to budge at all. screw them. the trade
value was fine, but they only came down $700 on their car, +
the 1300 for the cpo, + 1925 for an additional 2 years of warranty.
trade value of 5K, and rolling 5600 neg into the price. Payments
were at $600, we walked.

I offered the 22k for their car, certified, and $200 over dealer cost
for the 2 year warranty. Mercedes warranty is a joke. We are probably
going to sit for a while and pay her loan down, then look at BMW.
I hate teh run flat tires, but their free maintenace and 100K certified
program kills MB.
