Okay so all of a sudden, my sunroof will tilt, but will not slide back, i have tried the reset thing, and I'm about to pull the battery for a few to see if that helps.

Has anyone had this happen recently? Also when I hit the tilt, it will pop up and shut right away, I have to push it half way to get it up.

Any advise will help. Thanks in advance.

PS, there is no grinding from the track or motor.

Oh God the horror, I don't even touch my sunroof anymore afraid something will break... Do you lube the tracks often?

this has happened to me before
my tech took it apart and apparently my sunroof was missing a screw
and over time it jumped the track...

This happened to me on the second night I bought my S430...I found that after playing with it for a while, it Finally got fixed. Try tilting it halfway and then quickly pushing the button back, thats what did it for me. It never happened again, so it might be that a screw is missing, so get it checked out.

P.S. Try to use the sunroof as little as possible...I know, its there to be used, but sunroofs always screw up.

I just had this happen to mine too! I can tilt it up, but if I pull down it's unresponsive. I have to push back a couple times to close it. If I want to open it all the way, I have to push back SEVERAL times. Vice versa to close it. Extremely agitating. I really don't like the idea of the techs taking apart the roof of my car.

It was working fine all of last year, and I just decided to try it out today and BAM there it goes.

The sunroof in my Ml never broke.

Same thing happened in my W209. I searched around and found a post about synchronizing the sunroof and windows and it worked, I then lubed up the tracks and no problems. looks like u tried it but all i can say is do it again. Hold the tilt position for about 15 to 20 seconds to re-sync windows and roof, should do the trick. took me 2 or 3 tries but it eventually went. dont forget to lube tracks after. I use my roof everyday hot or cold its a thing I have, if its there use it LoL. anyways good luck these things get expensive.

i find that if you use something more often it'll break less.. i dk i also use my roof everyday i like it leave it on tilt when its parked and when i'm on the freeway. the one touch wasn't working soon after i bought my car and i brought it in and they fixed it for free i recently cleaned the tracked and lubed it up with some wd40 and its been opening and closing very smoothly since

****EN FINALLY FIXED IT!!!
AFTER A WEEK OF PLAYING AROUNF I FINALLY PULLEDIT APART FROM THE CENTRE DOME LIGHT AND USED THE ALLEN KEY TO TURN IT ALL THE WAY ANTI CLOCKWISE , my only would tilt not slide at all!!, I NOTICED IT NEEDS TO BE CLOSED TO ALLOW THE RAILS TO CATCH ON AGAIN OR SOME SORT, I SPRAYED SOME WD40 BETWEEN THE FLAPS AND THE RAILS. USED THE ALLEN KEY AND FORCED THE SUNROOF CLOSED AND THEN PRESSED THE BUTTON TO SLIDE IT BACK IT WOULDNT WORK STILL THEN I DID IT AGAIN AND VOILA!!!! IT WORKED AGAIN !!! I HAVE TO ADD THAT I DONT THINK WD-40 HELPED JUST THE FACT THAT I CLOSED FORCED IT CLOSED WITH THE ALEN KEY AND ALLOWED THE SYSTEM TO REGISTER IT WAS CLOSED. AND FROM THERE I PRESSED THE UP BUTTON HELD IT THERE FOR 5 SECS AND PUSHED BACK TO AUTO OPEN THE SUNROOF AND IT SLID BACK NICE AND EASY NO TROUBLES AT ALL!!!!
