Belt tensioner

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has taken their car to the dealer to replace their belt tensioner, because i heard a noise coming from there when i start my car. Anyone has similar problem like me?
BTW, I have 2005 C230 36000Miles. Does it cover by warranty.
Thanks in advance.

Does it sound like whining sound? If so, I had the problem when my car was like 10K miles. It was the tensioner pully. If that's the same problem, I got the dealer to fix it for free under warranty.

exactly how mine sounded. like a p/s pump whine, but it was rpm sensitive (and not steering related in pitch)

under warrantee, too.

Same exact problem here too. Had it replaced under extended warranty!

I'm having this exact problem with mine. Took it to an independent import repair shop & they said the noise/whine was normal. I find that hard to believe, because it sounds awful. No dealers within 2 hours of the town I live in, so I'm just gonna suck it up & make the drive. Anybody know the cost associated with this? Car no longer under warranty.....
