Whatsup guys!! New here!!

Hey, thanks to "young" i found this place!! If not for him I would have been stuck in CLubSi.com, and honda.acura.net trying to defend myself and my car!

Just a little info about myself:

my name is Andy, I am 19

Car: 02 Black C230 Coupe (AMG Evo package)

Performance Mods: Custom HKS exhaust, smaller pulley, custom piping on the intercooler, and 50 shot of NOS

Inside mods: Panasonic CY-VMD9000U, custom dash kit, and custom floor mats.

Thats about it! I am so happy to finally be in a forum with other ppl that have the same car I do!!

Thumbs down

I am sorry that you needed Young's help. I hope that the forum is worth having to do that. :p

As Young said, tell us about the pulley kit, and post pics.

Welcome! BTW: try defending your ccoupe at the vwvortex. Talk about being thrown to the wolves.

SIDENOTE: Young, have you ever been to Autoaddictions in Allentown? I ran into their display at the Philly Auto Show on Sat (boring MB display, but they had an Orion there, of course). The guy there quoted me $1350 for a Katzkin leather setup. They had a c240 (I think) with a two tone silver-black that looked great. I'm going over there on Saturday to see that stuff, plus they sell Brabus and Lorinser, so I'll check there as well. Joke of the day: we were looking at the Jags (dad has always wanted an S, but can't get past the price - you know how **** retired people get about money), and I noticed that the window switches are the same exact ones that I had on my rental Contours when the crx used to break down weekly. Thought that was pretty funny on a $60k car.

But the post of the dash will be up tonight!!

You should tell us about your pully upgrade. We talk a lot about it here but I don't think anyone else has actually done it yet (maybe Randy?). What kind of power upgrades did you see, etc? Also, does your intercooler piping increase the cooling efficiency or is for looks?

Welcome aboard

The pulley on my charger is smaller than the stock one...so it boost a little higher. We have not yet put it on the dyno, I plan on doing so here in about 2 weeks. I would say that it gave me about 20 more hp. I did not want to get too serious with it till I talk to some of the guys at Renntech about it.

I just owned 2 civics, once of which had a turbo, and the other a vortech supercharger. When I changed the pulley it made a difference between night and day.

So thats what I did with the pulley on the charger and it helped out a lot!! We have an extra one laying around, but I would hate to sell it to someone and them blow up their engine!! We are still testing it and have made 3 different belts for it as well.

If anyone is interested in it let me know and I will keep you updated! So far I have went 2 months, at 5500 miles with no problems on it. So I hope it stays that way. The air/fuel mixture too is making up for the extra boost and NOS perfect. If you do not have NOS on your C230, get it. A 25 shot helps as much as a 75 would on a civic.

Since it is so cold and you already have the supercharger it makes the boost even higher with the stock pulley!!

The piping has yet to be completed. We have taken off the plastic caps at the end and connected it there. I am still waiting on Rob (the guy that has done most all my work) to get the rest of the piping.

He says that it should help at least 10 hp. How true that is I don't know, but I have not seen any hp increase with the piping we have put on so far.

Randy, how much boost are you running??

Do you know roughly what your 1/4 mile time is and where are you keeping the bottle of Nitrous in your car?

Talking .....

I have the bottle out about 80% of the time. I dont like driving around with it. I wanted to do some custom fiberglass work in the back to hold it, but I will probably be getting rid of it in the next year or so.

When the bottle is in there, I have it in the back of the hatch.

I havent ran a 1/4 or 1/8 of a mile yet because the dragstip is closed were I live for now....

lol ... I'm from the vwvortex ... from first hand experience I can tell you guys that some users could be close minded

I am new here myself and am looking to get a 2002 c230 coupe and pretty much the deciding factor for me is the modding factor, e.g. what I can get out of the car as far as engine upgrades and suspension and the rest

coming from a GTI 1.8T i can say that I am a bit spoiled as far as aftermarket support goes but I really wanted to take advantage of the benfits of RWD and larger displacement engine

Welcome to the boards!

Man, I love the Benz. It wasn't even on my radar screen. I just didn't feel like waiting for the new VR6 GTI with 6-speed manny, so I test-drove an Altima SE - sweet ride, and I almost went for it, except the dealer tried to nickel'n-dime me to death, so I backed off. Then I remembered reading a review in Road & Track by Dennis Semanaitis. Went to an MB showroom to test-sit one. Ordered one without even a test drive. Now I'm happy as a pig in mud! To think I almost settled for a VW or Nissan. Nothing against any of them, but...you know what I mean.
My friend just got a WRX Wagon. Sexiest-sounding 4-banger EVER - comes close to a Porsche. No wonder - it's a boxer (opposing cylinders). But I love my Kompressor. Especially with the sixpack gearbox.

Hey Benzy230,

Why are you planning to take the NOS out? Is it not worth having it? How much more hp do you get and any problems with it?

I don’t have a boost gauge yet, but I should be around 3 lbs over stock so 8-9 lbs. Which intercooler did you use I think that you are working in the right direction with the piping and intercooler. I have been researching that myself.
I’m too chicken to add Nos. My friend is running a 75 shot in his C36 and getting good results i.e. low 13’s in the ¼ mile.

I have been considering using a co2 system to chill the intercooler. Have you ever tried that?

Randy
