Maintenance service A, B cost thread
From a flyer I picked up while waiting for my "free" carwash today:
Flexible A-Service "starting from" $249.99
Flexible B-Service "starting from" $599.99
Loaner car if purchased from them, still under warranty, and an appointment made 2-7 days in advance. That gives them time to reserve a loaner.
Otherwise, shuttle service. Or Enterprise rental.
They have also picked up the car from me at work and left me a loaner car when I was having warranty work done on the previous C240.

I really don't mind paying a higher price for better service.
)I do find that strange though, as they should be working off a standard pricing list. Can you post which items are being charged at your last service? Also, they don't get a commission off service, I asked. If you appreciate your SA, a gift would be most appropriate.
I have changed the oil myself on 2 other cars I own , a 1990 Toyota Celica and 1990 Honda Civic since they were brand new. When my mother bought the 2001 C240, I told her I will have this car serviced at the dealer only, like the "rich people" do

7 Quarts oil- $45-50
Inspections- Free
Total- $65
1 time fee for drill operated pump- ~30 including shipping.
(Surflo boatersworld.com )
Not get a single drop of oil on your hands, and pumping directly into the
container provided by the local trash company for recycle, and done in 15 minutes, priceless.
+ maybe another 15-30 minutes to look everything over, complete the checklist.
B Service-
Oil Change- $65
Air Filter- $15
Cabin Filter $10
Distilled water - $2 (for battery)
Wiper Blades- $40
Total- $132
Belts if needed (maybe every 60K miles for good luck)- add $50
Inspections- Free
Addtl. parts or services as needed upon inspection per the check sheet.
(Like the bi annual brake fluid flush, which I do actually prefer to pay someone for)
And, note that when you go in for B service at the dealer you may not
even get an air filter or cabin filter.
It not considered required.
They just inspect or rotate the filter 180 degrees per the check sheet.

Thats what I want to know. I do all my own oil changes, and if a B Service is only that minor stuff, I'll do it myself. ****.
lol.
I've been workin on cars for years. this thing aint that hard to figure out.
How do I go about resetting the computer in the car though, so it shuts up??? It's been naggin me for 600 miles.

turn ur igition to first or second position(forget which one) and go to the service screen and press and hold the reset button until it resets.
If you're at service B, chances are you're ~50K in which case you should seriously consider a transmission service which mercedes now recommends at 45K.

Now the B is coming up again at 75k miles... I guess it won't be that bad this time.
1) What should I focus on besides the rear diff oil...?
2) Is there somewhere else in Sactown area that do a good job?
Thanks.
