Fan control unit not working, even if replaced

Took the car for a check because was loosing power and getting flodded.
They cleaned injectors and reset the throttle.

But they say the fan is running at full all the time.So its a faulty fan control unit.
So I go and buy a unit, now the fault persist, they say is the main computer and they will try to reset it, and if it doesnt work, I need to buy a new computer.

This is in Costa Rica by the way.

Any advice or ideas?

Have you not spoke with them since they tried to reset your ECU? Maybe resetting the comp. is all they need to do hopefully.. besides that there should be some sort of relay in the circuit to allow the fan to switch between two different voltages. (The higher the voltage, the faster the fan). So anyways, maybe your relay is busted!? Don't know for sure man..

Wow, even in Costa Rica, dealers will steal from you. First off, I seriously doubt the ECU controls the fan. The way these fans work on MB's is go full out when grounded, so it's possible you have a short in the fan somewhere. Also, there could be a ground somewhere between the fan, the control unit and the switch which can also be bad. I don't know what module controls the fan but if I had to guess it would be the SAM modules, not the ECU. Also, in the U.S., the ECU is about $1,500 but dealers charge about $2,000 which is in itself outragous but it's very rare that these go bad but it's not rare that dealers misdiagnose a problem solely for the sake of higher revenue.
