If any of you remember, Drex and I concepted the idea of boring out the M271 throttle body and made connections to shops and people who would GUARANTEE a horsepower/torque gain from this mod...so this weekend I got bored with one of two spare throttle bodies I had in the garage and did myself a favor:

About power mods, again, don't chime in here thinking this is some cheap-*** upgrade that will make a HUGE difference...be ready to spend some money on this platform or don't even bother (I've heard and done it all). More details later...

Here's the stocky:

If you compare this picture with the 3rd picture above, a damn good deal of material is missing .

I've had it on for 1 year now. No problems, still the same effect.

I'm pretty sure we have a pic of my before/after dyno when this was installed.

Curious: how big of a difference is that in terms of stock vs borred mm diameters.

Drex what kinda gains did yall get outta it?

Throttle body
Sorry to do this to you, but I couldn't find the origin of this thread and would realy like to find out what you did to that poor old throttle body, how you did it and what it meant i.t.o more power. I'd like a few extra horses... Could you point me to the beginning, please?

My question is this….Is it a new throttle butterfly plate and a bored throttle body ONTOP of a shaved throttle plate axle?

Thanks,
Jake

I gained 3.1 hp at the wheels. Here is the dyno chart I posted a while back:

Now, for those of you that wanted to do this...well, you'll have to ask mig888, although I doubt he has the time to get it done nowadays.

just boring out the throttle body. Sound better than paying 700 and getting an ecu tune and getting 9hp out of it

Have you put on a Pulley yet? That would be the best place to start. The M111 runs lean already. Boring the throttle body may not be the best idea.

i've already done the pulley, k&n filter, throttle body screen delete as well as the MAF screen delete... just need to port the supercharger by steigmier... how much did they charge you? you also rebuilt yours right? how much that run you?
