Engine misfire on C230 w/Kleemann pulley (M111)
Okay...
So about a week ago, I had a check engine light, and I noticed that under heavy acceleration, or acceleration with a lot of weight in the car, the engine started to have a tendency to misfire. Keep it up for a few seconds, and the cylinder shuts down. If I stop, turn the car off ofr a minute, then turn it on, it behaves fine. So I go to a shop, find I need a new fuel filter and MAF (mass air flow meter), and the car is as good as new.
...Not more than a week later, and the same thing is happening. I'm about to rip someone a new one at the repair shop. Any ideas why this might be happening? I *really* hope it isn't the pulley, because that will really tick me off to no end.
It's an '02 coupe w/manual transmission, and the Kleemann boost pulley added on.

it has nothing to do with your pulley--- your coils are bad-- replace all four of them and be done with it--- all it takes is an obdII scanner to tell which bank or coil it is but it is better to replace all four-----one coil if exhausted will be shut down and this will happen to your car---yes you can shut it down and start it back up and it will temporarily be taken care of, but the problem will persist if you do not take care of it---autohaus AZ has them for like 30$ each the last time i looked -- change your plugs while you are at it

They seem to have about a 50K lifespan.
I keep a spare in the car.
Takes about 5 minutes to replace.
They're under the red cover, 2 bolts hold them in place over the
plug, and one electrical connector.
Very self explanatory.
Replace all 4 every 50K for troublefree driving, and invest in an OBD code reader so you know which cylinder is misfiring.
A cooler plug is good to have as well.
See my sig.
Changing the plugs is NP also,
the only odd tool I use is a telescoping magnet to fish them out, and drop them down in...... carefully as to not damage the tips.

pure coincedence, but the 02 coupe I got my fiance last week just threw the esp/bas dummy lights and put her into limp mode, but no check engine light, I figured since i just bought it and didn't do the full workover yet that i would take care of the issue first by swapping out the brake light switches under the dash and the pedal to see if it works
before I did this i just put the CAN scanner on it for kicks and it pulled a code for "bank one too rich" --- good thing i bought the plugs last week on the way home
when i pulled them last night they were autolite platnums and were really white and worn down (the car only had 60k on it????) but anyway after i replaced them it was a whole different car (that and the throttle reset for adaptive transmission) ANYWAYS --- the issue has not come back and we drove the car pretty hard last night and this morning so i will pick up the switches to keep as spares on the way home if it happens again
Koru-- it is as simple as 3 allen bolts, 8 star bolts, and 4 plugs (repeat in reverse)

ive got an old obdII scanner i hooked up to my car the other day, and i guess i need new software because it wont even initialize with my car. i fgured it would at least connect to the 2006, even if it didnt recognize the codes because its 2003 software still :P

no, i would never use that crap, I pulled them out of the 02 coupe I just bought last week, some other idiot put them in there (probably bought from Wal-Mard)
scrap the obsolete obdII scaner and ged a CAN to look at things from the past as well as the present and on into the future!
