a quarter mile at a time
So, she passed 72,000 miles. Still going strong.
For the past couple thousand miles, front end has been shaking intermittently at 45-65 mph. I know, it's probably the wheels or tires, but I decided I'd use the excuss to refresh some of the suspension components. Ordered and replaced the upper inner control arm bushing, the lower inner control arm bushing, and the tie rod ends. Ordered the parts online and had Serge at Hyevon Motors in Westminster put them in for me. THANKS SERGE!
Dropped it off for an alignment after the new parts were put in and I'm eager to get it back tomorrow. Had a chance to drive it a bit and so far I'm really happy with the results. Steering feels tight again and the car is MUCH more composed going around turns and over bumps.
PS. Sway bar, bushings and everything associated with the sway bar were changed about 35K, as well as the engine and transmission mounts, so I think they're still ok.

Eric, if you need the garage again let me know. You should have told me we would have changed those control arms.
I never knew you had a ECU tune. You felt a huge difference when you got it?

Seems those parts deteriorate so slowly over time that replacing them helps to restore a 'new car feel' in one fell swoop.
Heard good things regarding Hyevon Motors – thanks for the tip.

Front suspension was getting on the sloppy side and that's just not how I like my car to be. I'm glad it's back to being composed and well behaved. Thanks for the tips splinter!

I'm almost at 3 years (in 1 week) and I still love my C.
Actually, I pretty much 'fall in love with it' every April, when the summer wheels come back on and I lower the coilovers and then start on my new mods for the year. I think its because I've personalized the car so much that now that its something unique and although its not an expensive car now (an '03) i still get a lot of reactions from people saying how nice it looks.
Btw, damn this weather, I wash my car and it looks beautiful and then the next day its all dirty again. Thats why I envy your weather sometimes E!

And I will NEVER understand people who do this. The car has but one purpose - to be driven. I've said it before, my policy is for my cars to be well used but well cared for. It's gonna be worthless in 10 more years whether I drive the hell out of it or not, so I might as well enjoy it while I can.

Great stuff e - They are certainly cars that evoke emotion. Mostly very positive. New bushes on the front always bring the smile back!

Car feels much better Glyn. The old ones were cracked wide open and looked really bad. Really glad I got it done now.

win! looks good man! but, I don't believe that it's your car. I'm not sure if the calipers look right. you need to get in the trunk and take a pic for us.
