KW Coilovers Help

I about to take the plunge and get some KW Variant 1 Coilovers, but first i have some questions for you guys. First of all do they even make them for a 2007 C230? and will it look funny with my stock wheels? i just want a nice tuck with little or no gap.

Thanks for your help

it should fit on 07 model...
it'll still look good on stockies... but nicer rims will definitely improve the appearance...

Hm - yeah they'll work, BUT, you'll need wheels with an aggressive offset to get the "dump" you'll want. I had to get an ET30 to get the front fender to have a one-finger gap when I had them. Rears, no problem.

Tein does make some for our cars...just...I've never tried them. I've had KWV2s...they hold up to everything. So does my current spring/shock combo. But i'm in the process of moving into Bilstein PSS9's . Good luck with the K1 pricing!

I'm new to the whole mercedes tuner world and was just wondering what the intent of getting such expensive coilovers would be? And i hope i don't come off as being condescending, but I'm just curious. Are you guys doing it to actually better the performance of the car so you can take it to the auto x track or is it just to make the car look lower?

Brand name, reliability, and most importantly safety (#1). I am doing it to actually better the performance of the car whether it stays on the streets, goes to the track, or dodges a surprise accident. There's a downhill I practice on occasionally nearby .

I would say since you are already paying over 1k for the V1 why not throw in another $200 for the V2? Do it once and do it right! If you are also thinking about Tein, there are some good prices on TeinSS too if you just do some shopping. I have heard good stuff about the TeinSS.

i've had the kw V1s in my car... now i have tein SS's...my car is a 2007... with the SS i had to open up the sway bar bolt hole for the front... the KWs i bought used for a c55 so i did not have to.. but all in all i didnt like the v1s because they were too soft with no option of changing the settings.. i love the SS's i have on my car right now..and fyi, the front spring on the teins start off smaller, so with the KW u will need a wheel with a lower offset, while the teins u save about 3-5mms of clearance using the same rim

I have tein basics and et 28 up front and still was rubbing a bit when I was lower. So make sure you get the proper wheels (width/offset) and tires (round/thin sidewalls) if you wanna go low.

Excellent observation!! The clearance between the bottom of the tapered spring and its relation to the tire at a low setting is the single most important difference between the KW's and Tein.
