yes. i will do everything in my power to make sure this person is punished to the fullest. i am a forgiving person. forgive and forget, you know what I mean? but this person has caused me more grief and pain than he will ever know. i'm out of my car, i've used up all my insurance rental money, and now I have to wait even longer for the detectives to track this guy and hopefully recover it.

UPDATE: The officer went to this guys house today. Wheels are on the car. He tells the police officer to prove if they are indeed stolen. He can't prove that they are his either. His story of how he obtain them has constantly changed. I now need proof that they are mine. The pictures and description given are not enough. The rims don't have my name etched on them. The tires don't my name stamped on them. Someone please tell me what else I can do to prove they are mine. I just want them back.....

I think if the tires (brand and model) on your rims are the same as the pictures that you have might proof it. : ) Same rims same tires!!!!
Maybe you can ask the dealer or the advisor to help since they have seen your car before right?

Hmmm...I never thought to even ask for a receipt when I bought my AMG's off craigslist. Guess I'd be in the same boat.

Edit: actually now that I think of it, that might be a bad idea since you've gone to the police.

Contact the dealer or whoever that sold it to you and ask for the number of the rim if they etch it on the rim or anything. If there is none, I guess the only way would be to steal it back and you couldn't get in trouble either (if not caught in the act) because he has no reciept or proof of ownership either. I don't support stealing but in this case there is nothing wrong with stealing your own rims back.

There's a Tire Identification Code on all tires to tell week/yr. it was manufactured. Ask when he got them....you might luck out and he says he got them before they were manufactured so he'd be obviously lying.

You know this is just too ironic...
May be a little off topic:
This morning on my way out, I pass by my neighbors (two houses down) Ford Truck, Eddie Bauer Edition no less, and it is sitting on bricks. I paused for a sec and was in amazement someone jacked him in his driveway! Also, my neighbor across from me is a police officer!
I saw him this evening and stopped and asked, and yes he got jacked in 22F degree weather in the middle of the night, left on CINDER BLOCKS. OMG, I talked with the police about this, and they tell me this has happened four other times in my subdivision along with a few break-ins for LCD TV's. What the H E double hockey sticks is going on.
I feel for you, as I felt for my neighbor. I make sure I put my cars in the garage EVERY night, and I am getting some wheel locks. I already have some on the E320, my CLS has got to have them. I know you can still get them off, but that slows the thieves down and possibly deter them from stealing them.
Sad day, I hope you get your rims back. Press on the police, DA, get the evidence you need to get them back. I am sure you worked hard to get them, and some POS just takes them. Then has the audacity to put them on his car!

UPDATE: I thought I was going to get my rims back for sure. The guy agreed to have the police bring me to the house and try and ID them. I took time off and waited for the popo to come pick me up. Last minute, they callled me back and told me the guy doesn't want them around unless they have a warrant. I'm lost for words right now. I have a old professor from college that teaches law during the morning and is a judge for the state during the afternoon. He has offered his service to me to represent me if legal action is taken. I'm slowly realizing that I may never be able to get my rims back but now I can start focusing my efforts in trying to recover my losses from the dealer. This is the nut buster: whoever stole my rims came back to the dealer last night and took the spacers from the car. Yes, they came back and stole them right off my car, right in front of the service dept. I would have taken the car but the insurance has not released it yet because the work is not done. Plus, my stockers will not work the H&R coilover kit. I already tried... I've lost all faith in the dealership. They left my car on blocks, they didn't bother to secure the car(even after I requested they put it on jacks) and the thieves took advantage of it. The GM now has two (you know what) because I ripped him a new one today. I have an appointment with him on friday. He states that he will do anything to resolve this. I'm so upset that it took this long for them to realize that they need to help me. I'm not aggressive by nature but sometimes life calls for the ugly in us to come out. I don't like to be mad. I'm from Hawai'i. We are the most laid back people in the world. But this dealership has pushed me around and now its time to push back. Thanks to all of you that have helped me. I really appreciate the support. I honestly don't know if I will keep my benz. I may be done with them for a while. I would have never, in my lifetime, expected to buy such a great car, great brand, great reputation and be left high and dry. I have an extremely sour taste in mouth after this experience and I just want it to end. People in this world can be so messed up. I know its just a car and its just a set a rims. But I have always been taught that if you want something, go out there and work your butt off until you get it. It just sucks when people who are too damn lazy to hustle and get their own, steal from those who work for what they got. I will keep everyone updated on my epic as it continutes to unfold. Thanks again to those who showed their support. I believe god will punish this guy for the hassle he has put me, my wife, and my daughter through by putting us out our car. Have a good day. thanks for reading my gibberish.....if you know of any other venue that I could explore, please feel free to let me know because I'm exhausted with this and I wish they just stole the whole damn car so I could just get a new one already. Mahalo.
