Rims Stolen!!!!! and hopefully found.......
UPDATE: the wheel shop that sold me my setup called and told me there was a benzo in their shop getting fitted with my rims....!!! They called the police and made a report. Got all the guys info. I have an appointment with the SLCPD in the morning to try and resolve this. Thanks for all of you who have helped and I will hopefully have an update in the morning. In the meantime, if these aren't my rims, keep an eye out for me. I really appreciate everyones help. Mahalo!!
I had my car at the local dealership here in Utah. They called me this morning to let me know that my car was sitting on blocks and the rims were gone. Pissed off is an understatement for the emotions that are running through me as I type this. If you see or hear about anyone trying to sell rims that look anything like the ones on my car, please please please send me a message or contact one of the mods so I can try and track down whoever did this. I know its a long shot but at least I can try. Thanks.
heres a link to the post that I had posted with the pictures.

quick note. I've already contacted the police and filed a report. The officer took pictures and will turn it over to a detective. I've called my insurance and they said "yeah, its covered minus your portion". And last but not least, the dealership assumes "no responsibility". If anyone has had anything like this happen to them, please let me know what you did to get it resolved. I'm a phone call away from calling a lawyer......

thanks for the responses. yeah, the dealership won't do anything. i had my car there because someone slid into my car and hit the back rear quarter panel and damaged the suspension. the body shop turned it over to them to finish the work. the gm told me that I signed a waiver stating "not responsible for theft or damage caused by fire". I asked for a copy and was told that they couldn't find it and they'll call me back when they do. There's no signed waiver, that's why you can't find it..... Insurance will be there in the morning to check for damage. Hopefully they didn't jack anything else up not that they would care. aaaaahhhhhhhh!!!! this sucks.....

I would definitely look into the dealership taking responsibility. It could have been their own employees.. No way something of yours can be stolen from their property and they are not responsible.
Don't they have cameras?

wow that's mess up that the dealer is not responsible. What happen if our car got stolen from the dealer? They not responsible either...? It's bs, it's on their property.

I agree! Those guys knew what they were getting. Sound like an inside job; either the porters or the security themselves pulled this off. If the stealership even had security. Some stealerships here in CA just have a security rover drive by every couple of hours.

man sorry to hear about this those ****ing crooks should die, just keep checking craiglist and ebay
well what can the dealership do? They should have cameras ..have them checked out and try to get an image of the crooks and post it around the city maybe someone can recognize them. This couldn't be a one man job, even with two people it would take 10-20 min. BTW did your car suffer any damage from the bricks?
This probably never of happened if you had rimlocks.. **** I don't have them either better buy some soon

I was browsing Utah law online (I am somewhat bored at work, you understand) and while I couldn't find the implied responsibilities of a lien holder (i.e. - the dealership) in regards to the condition of property returned, you ought to know that there are certain rights that cannot be signed away, depending on the law. I think it's time to call the lawyer now...
Also, as an end-all-be-all, you could always write a letter to MB Corporate and let them know what a ****-poor job their dealerships are doing of protecting your investment in their business. Hopefully that should get you a check cut for the value of your rims, at the very least.

mahalo for all your comments and recommendations. as fate would have it, the owner of the wheel shop in Salt Lake City called me and said "There is a young man here trying to get your rims fitted to his benz. What should I do?" CALL THE COPS!!!!!! Holy crap, what are the odds of someone walking into the shop that set my car up??? Well, SLC finest did not show up but the owner was able to get his ID, LIC plate, and VIN. He also snapped some shots of the wheel that got damaged when my car was hit. I have an appointment set up with thd SLCPD to i.d. the wheels and hopefully I can get my rims back. stayed tuned....
