the both ebay sellers are the same company. its only registered in two different accounts.

No mine came brand new and no cracks. the only thing is messed up are the metal piece which you clip onto the holes which allows you to put the bolts through and secure the grill. two of the metal clip's hole is drilled too big so the original bolts goes right through. So now i only have the bottom left and right bolts secured then the top two on the left of the grill is secure. so the top 2 on the right has no bolts. But luckily its secure enough because of the bottom 2 bolts. other then that its pretty good with mine.

In my opinion the standard grill gives it a luxurious look while the other gives it a sportier appearance.
That's exactly my logic as well. I am gonna paint my stock grill because I feel it will be more of a "custom" version of the OEM parts and feel less like I am trying to upgrade to the look of a better vehicle. No offense meant to those who prefer otherwise, I would really be happy with either look.

I mean, if I paint my grill (black BTW) and botch the job or don't like the look, I can always make the "upgrade" to a CL style piece.

QUESTION: Does anybody ever get a grill style with a star AND keep their ornament? Too much star? I was debating the look. I think I would have to see it to decide though.

Let me know if you have input on that.

3 slat grille Pics on 02, c240

Here are some pics...was trying to get shots from afar. As far as installation goes, it took me less than 10 mins. All screws and holes were a perfect match. The old grille had two more screws than was needed by the new grille. No need for zip ties. Regarding having small movements with the star after it was installed on the grille, all I did was put a few drops of Gorilla glue from the back and it held the star in place. Very simple to do.

I doubted if this grille would appeal to me as compared to the 4 slat one but base on the pole on this post I went ahead and ordered the 3 slat one from eBay. I have to say I love it!

Update:

I received my silver 3 slat grill about a month ago but had a crack along with missing brackets and had to return it. I wasn't entirely impressed with the 3 slats as the slats look more vertical. I also saw a guy near my work that had the 3 slat and I was not impressed with how it looked on the car. Took about a month to get credit but lost the shipping cost. I've decided to try out the 4 slat and just received it today and I have to say it is a way better plastic. I believe its ABS. Much harder and heavier than the 3 slat. Built quality is excellent! I'm now for the 4 slat vs. the 3.

Also to add the flat hood emblem they shipped is Mercedes OEM part. The one that came with the 3 slat are aftermarket and were bad quality (didnt realize it til after seeing the OEM). The 4 slat also ships with a longer hood latch. But this probably depends on the ebay seller you get it from. Below is where I got the 4 slats.

I think the CL grill goes better with your car since you have a black bumper lip and makes it more unique compared to most C's with the standard grill. So obviously I vote for that one.

Edit: I have a CL grill and I've gotten a lot of positive compliments on it from friends and coworkers. Let alone the stare I get when I pass another C and they have that surprised look in their eyes. Keep the CL grill.

i don't like the stock grille- too plain. then again- i could like the CL grille better if it were black and chrome rather than just all black.

CL GRILLE DISCUSSION THREAD

I know there are a lot of threads about these CL grilles. This ebay seller seems to have really good quality stuff. I know a lot of cars can't pull this off without it looking bad, but I have brilliant silver, and this is color matched brilliant silver.

What do you guys think? Please post your opinion.
Keep the stock grille:
