Paying a machine shop to extrudehone your headers would not be worth the cost and also add in the downtime of your without headers.. It's just not worth it, OBX headers are suppose to be computer designed to exact design figures. I would not this..

+1 to this. Extrude honing while being hella cool isn't worth it for us. Aftermarket headers like obx are much cheaper and more effective. Extrude honing the factory manifold is like polishing a turd, what we really need is a good equal length header thats tuned for low end tq, then you extrude hone that to get nice gains all over.

While Karo has had success with his headers (albeit some questionable loss of low end torque)...
If it weren't for the OBX option, there's no way Id spend the dough on the Kleemann headers. I doubt the OEM manifolds are restrictive enough to warrant Headers being a front line power adder. It's too bad these cars didn't come with tubular manifolds, otherwise theyd totally be wiped off my list. The fact they interere with the steering shaft is bad enough... hence why it's the very last thing I'll be doing to the car. if you aren't going internal, and you already have the tune, i guess headers are your next step tho. again, Karo sure isn't disappointed.
i plan on an intial tune, then all at once ill knock out camshafts, deck height clearancing, P&P w/ valve angle job, then ill consider headers and an x-pipe w/ true dual exhaust followed up by a second tune.
