Grill removal scrwewed up!!!

Hi , i was trying to take off my grill on my 03 c230 coupe...i managed to take the top bolts out and took off the side clips plus the side bolts out as well....but then i got stuck at the center bottom....i see some sort of clip there in the center that i cudnot take out...so to get some extra room i took the grill out from the sides so it was just connected from the bottom and then i tried to wiggle and jiggle it but i ended up breakin

the freaking side knob like thingy on the grill that u push backward into the slot but still cudnot take out the grill...i am not so much worried abt the side knob thingy since the grill cud still be held in place without that...i was just wondering what is the trick to take out the bottom clip/pushpin....plz give detailed instructions...thanks.

C230 coupe, nothing special :)

Go to the dealer and explain what happend. After they look at you funny tell them you want the 05 sport grill, its $180 usd and about $30 in labor to install it. Best of luck.

Just get a flathead and pry it off. Theres no trick to it. Get a flashlight to see it better. Or what Coupes FTW said but $30?! for installing a grill with two screws and a pushpin?!

I only said to have them install it so they could properly remove the old grill

.

I should go buy that new updated grill aswell.

yeah...haha thats a good idea..spend like $ 200+ to get the grill properly removed..haha its seems like FTW u must get comission off of MB for sending people there buddy..

i will try it again...i freaking tried everything yesterday to take it off.....i just wanna understand how is the thing connected...is the big black thing that u see connected to the grill and then there is some hook inside it coming from the body ....i just cant picture so dont know which way to pry it...

Lol , Dude just go to the dealer and end the heart ache. I hate the stealership just as much as you but sometimes im just like F_k it and I let em go at it.

Theres a little circle pin head that is sticking out and get a flashlight so you can see and the stick that flathead in there and pry it off. It will just come right off. Then *voila*!

got the grill out...wooooo what a pain in the butt to take out the bottom pin/screw....one thing as a conclusion though....MB designers are crooks...there was no need for that freaking screw to be there in that awkward manner..it cud have been made simpler.

anyways got the grill out washed it properly and then put a carbon fiber tape on it.....loooks amazing and very clean...i did it very patiently sitting in front of my tv listening to music with a beer in my hand..2 hours later it turned out as a beautiful thing
