The future of Tires....
I just saw this... it looks interesting...
These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.
This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:
A.) no more air valves...
B.) no more air compressors at gas stations....
C.) no more repair kits...
D.) no more flats...
SCAN DOWN AND SEE.
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

nevermind them ^ ^
Hmm, I often feel compelled to adjust the tires’ pressure almost as much as the Mrs. plays with the climate control. up down up down up down… Will the wonder of pneumatics soon be relegated solely to my power tools??

Harry, I wish your brakes were in my future!

its an interesting concept, non the less i dont know if it will be in the price range for many or a preference if u look at the ride comfort as MJ says says.
p.s.
the brakes were a grate addition to my car, i gave up a lot of different mods to do the brakes upgrade. but it was well worth it in my opinion. thx.

really not sure how i would feel about running around with a 12 inch rim and think i'm BALLIN, then again, never catching a flat is attractive with the way my car sits. but yet and still, that is an UGLY *** wheel/rim combo.

like he said, the ones in the photos are prototypes with no sidewalls so you can see their guts (otherwise you'd be looking at an ordinary tire saying "I don't get it?!?")
I'd buy them in a heartbeat; especially since I just replaced two (more) wheels and tires on the wife's C320. she's a pothole magnet!

One of the most important questions is the tire's performance characteristics. It looks like it deforms pretty hard under load (see front left tire on the turn), though it does give it more surface contact with the road, I wonder if the shear stress will offset that, or just cause other problems.

I prefer the old style tires
