LED on Fogs... help!?

Any one here running with Led's on the fog lights?

What kind of resistor should I use!?
The Leds are 12V 1W

I bought these ones:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...TODAY.m238.lVI

But I need to modify the fog in order to remove the deflector that is in front of the lamp, in this case to help the led point light to front instead of hidden it!

why dont you just buy PIAA TERA led bulbs that is already designed with resistors and will be straight plug and play?

I don't know if the resistors in the piaa tera are big enough for this application. A 5w wedge bulb is one thing, but a 9006 bulb is 55w. LED's won't through nearly enough light either.

LED's don't produce as much heat, and at 1W, won't get anywhere near hot enough to melt anything.

Those shields are there to block light from going above a certain cutoff. This is so your fog lights won't blind oncomming traffic. With the LED's in there, this won't be a concern because the light output is so low but if you decide to go back to your halogen blubs, you will be blinding people.

bought the same ones, not bright at all, same brightness as a 194 wedge bulb, but what you need is the 6ohm 50 watt resistor.

Resistors in paralel adds the capacity? 3 Resistors of 17W(the max that I found) in paralel makes 51W, can be?

Best regards

P.S. - I bought too an pair of these bulbs

I think bensitto is the one who did LED fogs on his quad fog setup, but the only reason it worked was because his sidemarker wiring is powering his primary fogs, which are 5 watts (similar to my setup, but I don't have LED, so I needed a harness connected directly to the battery in order for it to work).

At portugal I only can buy resistor with 5,6R or 6,8R
One of this serves?

Best regards

so I ordered the resistors from v-leds on ebay about a month ago andthe still have not arrived, i don't recommend that anybody buy from them. Service is horrible. I found them cheaper here anyways:

Yeah, I did LED fogs in one set of my Quads, the other set are actual 6000k xenons. The LEDs are not bright at all. kinda like city lights. Go with real xenons! My LEDs were almost exactly like the ones you bought. High-Intensity LED.

I'm going to replace the LED fogs soon.

Reviving this from the dead, but does anyone know if I can just buy LED 9006 bulbs and put them in the fogs and not have issues? I understand I'd have to remove the center shields to get the most light, but other than that, what should I look out for?

Also, I know LEDs draw less energy, so I'd get the resistors.

Lastly, where's the best/cheapest place to find a pair of 9006 LED bulbs? v-leds costs $60 + shipping to Canada so that's kind of stiff for what they are.
