TruTaing's Stock W203 thread
come to rowland and let me drive the M5!! LOL
Crank pulley has been installed and it has made the car a very different car to drive. It revs MUCH faster and the rpms are lower while cruising on the highway... Apparently, it'll take the car a full week to fully adapt to the change too... I'll post a more about the crank pulley after a few weeks. Belt still looks good by my eyes and also by the tech's
Headers have been delayed a bit... Updates with that soon enough.
Random Note: I got out and snapped a few pix of a local member's car this past weekend:

Glyn,
Check out AMS's webpage here.
My decision to get them:
There has been lots of debate about the product on all of the mb forums - mostly negative. After reading for a few months and seeing all of the debates, my decision to purchase the product came down to the experiences of guys who have actually had the pulley on their car for longer periods of time w/o problems. In addition I saw other "bigger named" companies releasing similar products (for diff cars) in the same price range with the same advertised results...
Additionally, I helped convinced Waveykat to be the first to experience the TVT injectors on a w203 and he was curious about this product, so I told him I would test it out and see how it goes. I will keep a close eye on the engine and how it behaves in the w/in the next several months. Maybe I will create a thread dedicated to it.

Hello Trutaing,
Glad to see you are happy with the pulley results. You should also notice smoother shifts as well, that seems to be one of the first things most of our customers say although technically its not something we advertise on alot simply because its so subjective.
The lower rpms on hwy is due to the extra torque available directly off idle so the load required to maintain speed is less, hence lower rpms, hence improved fuel efficiency on the hwy.
It pleases us to hear you are happy with our crank pulley and the car should continue to adapt of the next week or so. With the LET UDPS and AMS crank pulley, you have now freed up as much power out of your entire serpentine pulley system that you possibly can so thats definitely a great setup to have. I'm sure the car really revs up well with that combo.
Thanks again and have a nice day.

Interested to hear your long-term feedback on not only the UDPS, but also the new crank pulley. When my dampened evosport ODPS was installed, throttle response was definitely quickened - akin to a lightened flywheel. Its increased supercharger boost was merely another favorable happenstance.
The tasteful and intelligent modifications you’ve installed have resulted in one of the sharpest and most desirable rides on our forum, IMHO. Exceptionally well done.
I may get up to Mercer Island this summer. Perhaps we’ll have a chance to catch up.

More long term updates to come after lots more driving.
I intend to drive this car for a very very long time, so hopefully, my selection of mods will help make the car more efficient (and fun of course).
Thanks Splinter
Definitely hit me up if ya come up to Mercer Island.
