Brake Pads. What Suspension Do I have, What pads to get
After searching this forum and reading other posts, I've gotten further confused about the breaks on this car. (C230k Coupe)
1) When I search for parts, many times it asks if I have the sport suspension or not? How do I know?
2) I need to replace the front pads, and was thinking about getting ceremic. The goal is to reduce brake dust. The problem is I don't know where to buy ceremic pads for this car, or what brand to use.
3) I've read that I need to buy new rotors if I switch to ceremic? Can't I just get them machined down like I normally would during a brake job?
4) Can I just replace the fonts without the rear? Is it ok to have mismatched pad types? If not, what manufacturer sells ceremics for both the front and rear?
5) Can I re-use the little sensor in the pad, or do I need to replace it?

1) 2005+ has the sports suspension (on C230 and C350 sport)
2) Autozone pads don't give off too much dust...
3) don't know
4) you can leave the rears be.
5) you can re-use the sensor if you did not get the brake wear warning yet. or just replace it...it's under $5 for the part.

2) Tirerack.com. Try to make sure you get the right part no.
3) Not that i know of. I changed to ceramics with no problem. I have to change the rotors soon due to wear and i have to change the pads again.
4) Yes. I have akebonos on rear and hawks in the front.
5) Yes if not yet broken

But this is a coupe. When I compare it to a c230 sport sedan, the sedan has much bigger calipers (Probably 4 piston).
So something is different.

Front brakes came in 2 piston or 4 piston..
earlier (2004.5) had 4 piston and later on the 2 piston.
