Sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen, I have had a C240 and if my C32 engine was in it it would fall apart like the space shuttle. Try an aftermarket kompresser.

C32 and C240 are 90% the same car.

Without the suspension and braking upgrades, the C240 would be a real handfull under full bore, but I can't see a legitimate reason why such a swap wouldn't work.

I would have gone for it. Hell, I would have bought the whole wreck and parted it out....then shoehorned the AMG mill into a Coupe body

What ever happened to this project? It's probably beyond most people on this forum. I always thought that if I blew my motor and the warranty was over I would probably get a 3.2L motor as they are in virtually in all MBs so they must be common in the salvage yards. I figure I would rather pay $3,500 for a V6 and possible another $1,000 to put it in rather than rebuild the 2.3L for $6,000 or replace the S/C for $3,500.

I think this progect would be a huge waste of time and money, I did allot of reaserch on tryting to get my old Slo 240 some horses and the best thing I came up with was to just get the real thing and fogetabout it..

As you know I am in the military have been tied with all these deployments overseas. I will not have time to work on this "project" for at least another year because I am leaving this April for a one year tour to Korea. I will return around the 20th of May 2004. Hope to get started when I return. "GOD SPEED"

Um, so for an extra 20 grand you had no options? Get real. His 2,500 dollar investment is about as cheap as cheap HP gets. I look forward to reading more about his project when he returns!

I would love for somebody to take on a great project like this but I would also hate to see somebody go through all the time, effort, and money only to be plagued with possible problems down the road that a dealership may not want to deal with. Unless this is going to be a car you're willing to make a long term project and keep for a long time I would never take on a project like this. Even if I had all the knowledge to do it which I don't, in the long run I think you'd just have a one-off frankenstein car that only a few people will be able to understand the value of and really appreciate it. If you have the money, time and skill though I think it would be really interesting, and would definitly add a huge thread to this forum but it's just too easy for everybody to sit in front of their computers, miles away and encourage you because of the initial good deal of the C32 engine or coolness factor of the project, when you'll be the one stuck with any problems that could arise. Not trying to be a pesimist, just trying to discuss the other possibilities. This is only my opinion but many times when things seem too good to be true, they usually are. clk 240

Help me add hp on my clk 240

Can i swap my clk240 (2005) (w209)engine with a c32 or an e32 amg engine? I run on a 5g tronic transmission. Or a clk 350 but it runs on a 7g tronic so i dont think its a good idea. Im new to this so help me if you have your own ideas.
