Nexen N3000 Tires

So I replaced all 4 stock tires with these. I figured I would try them out since they were very cheap and was on a tight budget. So far I like em. They're not as soft as the stock michelins but suprisingly road noise is very minimal. Road grip isnt bad either, but I don't drive too crazy anyways. Right now the weather is dry so I dont know how well they'll perform on wet roads. Anyone else ever try these tires?

I have Federal 595ss on my G35, those are inexpensive and perform well w/ low noise as well.

Just wondering how much you guys paid for your tires. I paid 80 each for fronts and 100 each for the rear. Although I found another shop that couldve done it for me 79 fronts and 89 rears. Only 10 loss so no biggy. Price includes installation and balancing.

This should be merged into the tire thread.
But you guys should take a look at the new
Sumitomo as well, HTR3. Inexpensive, and highly rated on tirerack.

Wow that is pretty cheap. Where did you get it done and what tire sizes did you get?

You're right. I'm so used to posting on here that I didnt realize I couldve started this in the Tire thread. But ya my friend has Sumitomo and was gonna go with those but I noticed the Nexen are more widely used so I went with that instead.

225/45/17 fronts 245/40/17 rears. They're stock size for SS.

I went to Calderon Tires but only because they had it in stock and they sorta priced matched the 79/89 quote I got from DVS Tires. Calderon were originally quoting me 100 per fronts and 120 per rears. DVS tires is on 13th Street in San Jose, CA. If you're from the bay and wanna get them there I suggest you call them in advance so they can pre-order the tires incase they don't have it in stock. Or just call Calderon and tell em to price match.

Nexen tires

The Nexen N5000 were on my C when I bought her...Had never heard of em but the little research I did found a couple complaints about them "exploding" when some guys wife was driving. I'll leave the female driver part alone but after a couple years of riding on them I have nothing but KUDOS for the tires! They not only have been terrific at gripping on wet/dry surfaces but I cant believe how utterly quiet they are! I mean NO road noise & they look killer! I think price-wise they're right there w/Kumho & Sumitomo...Greatness for those of us on a limited budget!

MU-like I said, the one guy that said that I kinda took it as he didnt kno what he was talking about. He went on to trash everything Mercedes so I blew him off. He's the only one who said that;and allegedly she blew up 3 at one time. Other reviews/opinions I found were pretty positive. Personal experience is a thumbs up

Some of the older sumi's had a habit of doing that too...
took my chances.
Usually a tire will have a bubble before it blows.
All 3 at once? Very hard to believe, as if for you no reason at all.
There had to be more to it.

It's important to once in while take a walk around your vehicle, check tires pressure etc.

I will second that rating. I've barely got 1000 miles on mine, but I love 'em. Great value and performance. We'll see what they're like after 10K miles....I might be singing a different tune...

Nice Actually because of your tire size it should be more expensive and typically n7000's cost more than n3000's. Great buy!

i just got the general exclaim UHP for 85 each and my tire size is rediculously expensive, there cheap and grip pretty nice. i really think that if you want to save some money but still have a UHP tire then there the way to go. the 595's are also cheap but from the people i talked to they dont preform as well and the quality isnt as good.

Exclaims suck.
Period.

They don't grip, last long, or corner well.
They are the very definition of mediocrity.
I rated them a flat ZERO on tirerack, just to even out all the idiots who think they deserve a 10. Unfortunately, no one seems to care.
That being said, I got 2 installed on the rear for $200 at
tires.com (discount tires or whatever) including tax a few years ago based on the reviews, and THATS the only reason they get a good rating, cause they are just dirt.
Not dirt cheap, just dirt.

I had Fuzion's on the front and put Exclaims on the rear.
On every turn the back just came out....totally screwed my handling.

I didn't realize at the time, it was the fault of the tires sucking so bad, but when I got my AMG wheels with PS2's installed on them, I learned the difference between good and bad tires.

They live in my crawlspace now, like the trolls they are.
Yuk, suck, make my head spin, linda blair pea soup, they SUCK!

HTR3's on the rears are complimenting the remaining tread from the
RE050R-PP's just fine! And when the fronts wear out they'll be replaced with HTR3's. (which also have a 300 treadwear rating)

I have been using Nexen N3000 tires for almost 2 years until one of my rear tires got punctured. I replace it back in early Feb with another N3000 and somehow it went flat and the side wall is totally ****ed two days ago. I am very pissed about it but cannot really do anything about it. Maybe try to go back to the store and see if they will let me claim the 1 year warranty and try to get a partial refund. Anyways, these are great tires. It was actually as grip as my old Pilot Sports and it's way cheaper.
