C320 4MATIC brakes

Time for a front brake job on the wifey wagon. Tirerack has 2 sizes listed for the front brake pads. How do I measure or find out what size to get? Guy who answered the phone did not have a really good answer for me.

Probably better to buy them locally. Easier to exchange.

'08 E550 4Matic
hmmm. That's odd, I dont remember their being 2 different sizes. Only thing I could suggest is to get both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.

E550 4MATIC
2005 C240 4MATIC CPO value

Hi guys. I got my new E350 in August and have been procrastinating selling my C240 4Matic. Probably because it was my first Mercedes and I do love the style of the W203.

In this market what do you think is fair to ask for a 2005 C240 4Matic Pewter/Black Leather inserts interior. New Michelin Primacy tires and brake pads and rotors replaced last year. It has about 50,000 miles but it has an MB extended warranty until 100K or March 2012. Full MB service history.

Sunroof package
  • Sunroof
  • Rear sunshade
  • Dimming mirrors
  • Garage door opener
  • Rain sensor

Heated seats
CD Changer

Exclamation 2007 C280 4MATIC tire size?

My cosuin has a 2004 C240 with well over 100k. He trading in for his second Mercedes. A 2007 C280 4matic. We are wondering if the c280 takes the same profile tire as his c240 did? Any information would help us. Thank you

2005 C240 4matic and 2007 ML320 CDI 4matic
Yes, it is the same tire, 205/55-16. Some C240s had a factory tire option of 225/50-16. It is the same height, but slightly wider (approximately .5") and looks good on the car. I replaced my 205 tires with 225 tires on my 2005 C240 4matic and like the slightly wider stance. The other advantage is that the tire protects the wheel more than the stock tire. The cars drives the same and no performance difference.

Hi - I'm looking at buying a CPO '05 C240 4MATIC wagon with about 28k miles on it. Anything to in particular to watch out for on these cars? I'm fairly new to MB, so any pointers/tips are really appreciated! Thanks!

Let the 4Matic crew chime in about the drive system. The C240 is a good tough vehicle & gives very little trouble. Tried & proven all round. Only weakness is front castor bushes which split & leak silicone fluid. Common to all W203s - Cheap to replace but give them a look. A friend has a C240 in KL Malaysia with over 700,000 Kms on the clock & no major repairs. We have an E240 in airport cab service here in Cape Town - same running gear - with 570,000 Km on the clock & no major repairs. Benz V6 engines are bullet proof if maintained & the 2.6 litre is not stressed. Loves to rev. Good choice.

Congrats from a fellow wagon owner. Post up a pic when you get a chance. I have had my 04 c240 wagon (non-4matic) for 8 months now and it has been rock solid. I purchased with 41K and am just under 50k right now. Cheers, Greg

Congratulations! You'll love the car... you probably know that, though, because you probably already do. Welcome.

2004 Mercedes C320 4matic
2004 Mercedes C320 rear and sags or front end is higher

Hi, I am new to these forums, and I am curious to see what you guys have to say about this. I have owned a few Mercedes before, but I just bought a new one (new to me). It is a 2004 C320 4MATIC. I noticed today that the rear end of the car looks like it is sagging a lot in comparison to the front. Or the front is a couple inches higher than the rear. Any idea what this might be? And possible fixes?
