I think my supercharger is toast

I have been getting a P0237 code lately that I have cleared with my scanner each time.

I occassionally lose power on accelleration and going up inclines. Today, going uphill to the mountains, I could not muster over 45 mph without kicking tranny down into passing gear. Also, I noticed some oil under the airbox, at the supercharger snout.

I am out of warranty at 51,500 miles, but I am gonna **** and moan until I get a new supercharger replaced at MB under goodwill, since I don't think a supercharger should be blowing seals at 50000 miles.

And NO, I don't have an afermarket pulley installed.

Could it be a clogged fuel filter?

I would spend the $$$ and get it looked at. I had similar problems, was out of warranty and had the awful "oil in engine harness" issue too.

Could be a clogged cat, shouldn't be, yet if you had the "oil in engine harness" issue and ran rich, it'd clog the cat.

My problem eventually got worse, and well, a hole in a piston and a new engine later its resolved.

I had oil at the same spot, from spilling some during an oil change.

I know the oil I have seen isn't from an oil change, as I have cleaned the oil up about 1 week ago, just to be sure.

Its most likely not a fuel filter, because how would you explain the oil and the P0237 code (deals with supercharger bypass valve voltage circut A).

I have checked on th internet and can get the supercharger exchanged for $700 plus $300 core from a place in OK (PSE Superchargers) or I can get mine rebuilt at Magnuson in Cali.

The bypass valve, through Autobahn Motors (trademotion mercedes) is $794 and new supercharger is $1498.

I have to check if I get mine rebuilt, if it comes with the bypass valve as part of the unit (it seems like the bypass valve, also known as Air Recirculation Flap Actuator, is way expensive).

I m going to go to my SA at the dealer to see if they are gonna do it under "good-will", since my warranty expired a thousand miles ago.

I have an entire used engine, minus the hole in piston #3, for sale in parts. If you need a part let me know.

I brought my car to the dealer to really see what the heck is going on.

Apparently, a few months ago when they did that PCV maintenance campaign, the did not properly secure the intake charge pipe. They claim it popped off under boost.

Luckily, I did not have to pay even though I am out of warranty, becuase I showed my SA where oil was leaking even before they did the cam sensor thing about a month ago.

I am crossing my fingers that this is indead the fix for the CEL (P0237).

I hope that this fixes your P0237 fault code too.

The SC intake plumbing is a PITA to secure. It's got a metal collar that mates to another metal collar fairly tightly and is secured by a wire clip. Get the wire clip in wrong (i.e. not into the receiving groove) and the hose will pop off under boost. I would have thought you would have heard a loud "whoosh" and whine from underhood when this hose popped off though.

It's better to have a brand new one instead of rebuilt one cuz a friend of mine from school got replaced a rebuilt one and had the same problem after about 20K miles...
Get a new one w/ warranty...it should be good choice!
MBZ engine is good to go over 150k miles...at least..my friend's w203 C230 kompressor is over 150k miles now
