questions re: upgrade ECU:
1. are there any specific ECU or chip replacement/enhance/reprogramming that can be used for 06 c230 SS?
2. is powerchip better?
3. are there any other company that offer this?
4. will this void warranty?
5. any recommendations?

I inquired about getting my 05 C230 done at SI and they sid they no longer offer the service, at least for my year or model. I was disappointed. I am looking for an ECU tune as well.

SI" said the guy that did the MB tuning had left and therfore they were no longer doing the ECU's. That was about six weeks ago.

Funny..I contacted K1 by email and he ensured that I can get it tuned. Why would Steve from SI tell me something different? I will try and find the email I got from him. If K1 can do it, I am for sure gonna get it done.

I had my SI tune done through JLevi (the middle man). At that time the guy's name that was doing the Mercedes tunes for SI was Jessie (can't remember his last name). I talked with him a few times before sending my ECU off. At that time, how it worked was this: I paid JLevi and they sent me a call tag for the ECU, which was mailed to Jessie- when he was finished with it, he sent it back to me. JLevi never handled my ECU at all, they were just the middle man in the deal. I read up on Jessie on several different boards (not just Mercedes), and he seemed to have a pretty good name, especially with Porsche if I remember correctly.

Its such a rip tho... for 11 horsepower.. for the ECU tune for 600 bucks.. not worth it attt all...
I am getting the Kleemann Headers and my downpipe done.. so i shud knock a good 25 or so out of that

hp isn't cheap on these cars. on the other hand- i didn't pay $600 for mine, and they claimed something right around 20hp if I remember right. but, then again, mine is the 2.5L engine. i think i paid $500
there has to be some truth to SI not doing mercedes any more though. i just checked jlevi's site and they no longer offer SI tunes. i also look on SI's site- no mention of mercedes there either. kinda odd- SI was the only one that wasn't mentioned in the *****-storm a few months back from another tuner possibly being at fault for some engine issues in an AMG E-class.

Yes, our company became legal in 07. Actually for tax purposes TVT Design, INC was formed in January of 08. We have been working on the Crossifre and 3.2L engine since about 05. Last year we decided to get serious with the performance parts due to the lack of aftermarket support for MB engines.
A small capitol investment, some already available knowledge, and knowing the right companies in Germany, and there you go, we are a company.
We use Optican for all of our tuning, basic flashes come straight from them, and custom tuning is done by Jerry of LET.
All of the mechanical work is done by us.
