Maintenance Intervals
My maintenance computer today put up a notice that I needed to do B-service maintenance in 30 days. Now here's the thing, it had A-service done at the dealership when I bought it and I've driven it less than 3000 miles in the past 6 months.
So what is going on? I do normal driving no track stuff, typical mix of freeway and surface roads.

The V6 MB's can see the oil and determine if it needs changing. This is different than the I4 Kompressors that are mileage and time based. It could be that they didn't do a great job in changing the oil before and it's dirty.

Either that or did they do the A service at a mileage that is different than the normally assigned one in the book. Check your manual and see if your mileage matches the one for the next B service. You may just be out of sync. When I bought my car, since it was a CPO, part of the reconditioning process was to do a A service.

Absolutely positive they did A-service and reset the computer, I'm kinda **** when it comes to car maintenance and got a full maintenance history of the vehicle from the dealer. It was a loaner and it was owned by the dealership, so they did all the required maintenance.
When I got the car, I saw the B-service is needed in 13K miles. Then about 3 or 4 days ago, it prompts do a B-service in 30 days only after driving little less than 3K miles in the past 5-6 months. Now it counts down daily. Regardless, I'll find out tomorrow the verdict when I bring it in.

But again, what mileage are you at, and how does that correspond with what your service manual says the B service is supposed to be at? You can do a A or B whenever you want, but the computer brings up the message according to the mileage schedule in your book. Have you bothered to look at that reference? You may have your answer there.

Check also the manufacturing date of your car. The service is required 13,000 miles or if 1 year has elasped. The year timer is set by the factory when the car is produced. Look on the sticker in the door jam, it gives the month of production.

can you update what had happened? I am having the same issue here. Got the CPO loaner when it had 12K; used it only for 6months now and added less than 5k. Service B warning is up now.
