for anyone that buys the moleskin from tintprotector.com- don't buy the "mercedes specific" kit. save yourself $5 and just get the generic one. the only thing you get when you buy the mercedes kit is a paper copy of the above directions. i ordered the generic one- and it was more than enough material.

BAD idea buying the crap generic moleskin!
Tint Protector's moleskin is the only one that is made for cars. It has super Glue in the adhesive. The generic stuff falls off and leaves glue all over your tint in weeks.
What's $25 when you paid $200 for the tint job? Don't risk getting the generic stuff. You'll just be taking your door panels off ALL over again to install the good stuff Tint Protector sells after the generic fails.

no- i'm saying to buy from tint protector, but buy their generic kit. it's the exact same stuff, just less the directions. they plainly state on their site the generic kit is the same material- just a 10' roll of it.
http://www.tintprotector.com/strips/index.htm - sorry it's actually called their "by length" kit, not generic as i stated above. use the $5 you saved to buy a beer or two at the gas station for the moleskin project

Just got done putting my moleskin kit. Was not hard at all. Once you get the first door panel off..the rest will be easier.
I did encounter a problem: After putting everything back together on the last window I was working on, I shut the door then I heard;"clank"! . I ignored it & proceeded to roll it up but the window won't go up. After 'finagling' for a few minutes I almost gave up on it & was going to take it to the shop. More $$$ I thought.![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)

I gave it a last try by pulling the glass up & pulling it toward me a little & lo and behold..It worked!!
Had no clue how it came off the track. It could be I pulled the door panel out too hard or somehow I 'nudged' the glass while I was pressing down on the seal.
Anyway it works for now...
Now I have to call this Mobile tint guy who will do it for $150 at my home.

I hope they put it on right. If it's installed correctly you won't get any scratches at all.
I think it's better to do it yourself. That way you know it was done right. It's super easy to install. The C class kit Tint Protector offers has very detailed install instructions.

Tintprotector is a very cheap investment and saves the hassle of re-tinitng.
It took me 20 minutes to remove the first door panel and no more than 5 minutes each for the rest.
Super easy to do and yes, they do have good installation instructions for their product.
