Evosport UD Pulley Monthly Report

I put the UD pulleys on almost a month ago and I just hit 1000 miles since I put them on, so I figured I'd post an update. The previous six months I averaged 21.9 mpg. After 1000 miles with the UD pulleys I'm averaging 24.9. This is a 12% savings, or $274 annually at today's $4.15/gallon premium in my town. Will this keep up? I have no idea. What I do know is the car is much more fun to drive, easier to accelerate, and so far saves me 12% on gas. I will post updates monthly to track the progress. So far so good.

Got it from another member here for $200. Installed myself (see my DIY in sticky). Well worth it.

Great to hear about a dual cool beanie. More power and better gas mileage.

Your "city" mileage is nowhere near mine. NYC must be terrible in anything but a Prius. My town is pretty spread out, so I get between 18 and 23 on any given day. Today was 21.0 with 2 hours in the car running btw work and various errands and house hunting (crawling) with the wife...and my buddy took it for a spin where I'm sure he floored it quite a bit while I borrowed his truck.

What do you get on the highway? I got 30.4 between Charlotte and Lynchburg, VA on Wednesday.

depends. highways are really "not highways"

I remember the most I ever got was, 26-28mpg pure "highway" going 60-85mph to "the poconos". Maybe because I get throttle happy.

btw, heres my review of the evosport Pulley when I first got it.

Holy cow, that's amazing, $4.15 a gallon, we pay $4.79, that's a 15% savings on any car or truck. Actually I've been loving the high prices and wish they just keep going up. Traffic has been so light.

Thumbs up Month 2 Update

OK, so it's 2 months after the install and I continue to be impressed with the UD pulleys. I've driven a lot of highway miles this month, so the numbers will likely be a spike this month, but keep in mind these are cumulative, not just this month.

Old MPG = 21.9
8/12 MPG = 26.3

3797 miles in 2 months = 22782 miles/year
Gas today is $3.65/gallon
Savings = $635.24/year

I'm interested to see how the next month's driving affects the results. I only have a couple of highway drives scheduled and they are not long at all. The average total MPG got up to 27.0 at one point this month and the trip home from NJ hit 32.0 MPG (trip MPG) for a while before settling out at 31.7.

Central VA has been about $0.20 below the national average during this last price jump. IIRC the average today was $3.65 for regular and we're about $3.43-$3.49 for regular and about $3.65ish for premium (except those places that don't use the 10-cent increment). I'm guessing Laguna Niguel will always be quite a bit higher.

went to pick up my euro plate insert from Steve at Mark's in Huntington Beach. 91=$4.17 at Mobil we were there in my friend's 335 there and we filled it up.

got back to my area 91 = $4.22 filled up for the 204. 50cent difference at 10gallon. not really a whole lot, but 4.17 just sounds better lol.

This month is somewhat of an anomoly because I've driven a lot more on the highway. Tacking onto the total, however, I'm sitting at 27.0 MPG for the month, bringing my overall average to 26.7 over 7797 miles. I will be changing the O2 sensor this weekend as well as spark plugs, so we'll see how the next month pans out. I'm back to a normal schedule.

This month: 27.0 MPG, 4000 miles (it rolled over just before the battery reset a couple of days ago)

Overall: 26.7 MPG, 7787 miles since installation.

18% Fuel savings over the course of a year ($1,065 at today's $4.19/gallon)
