SRS warning light

Hey guys,

My srs warning light came on the other day. I accidentally left my key in the ignition while I unplugged the instrument cluster, would that throw an error? I check all the connections under the seat and all the fuses. Any ideas before I head to the stealer tomorrow?

I'm on the same boat. I don't think the key had something to do with it b/c I unplugged my cluster, plugged it back in and the SRS light came on (with a disconnected battery). Already checked fuses, connections, etc. I'm taking the car to Sunil hopefully this week. Let me know if you figure it out.

im in the same boat...

my battery was dead... due to passenger seat control module....

key was in the ignition and I unplugged one of the control modules under the seat....

my srs light has been on ever since....

i read on here the only was to get it turned of is to go to the stealership..

My battery dies if I dont drive the car for 5days. Maybe the seat control module is bad on mine. Ive jumped the car a few times with no errors. But this time it came on 5 days after I put the seats back into the car. I unplugged the battery for a few hours hoping the error would go away, but nope. I guess I'll have to see what the dealer says in the morning.

unplugging the cluster with the key in the ignition will result in the SRS error that you can only clear with the STAR.

A new record! Replying to a 17 year old post!
You may not need to use Star Diag (though it helps)
Some handheld afternarket units will do it.
I'm trying to determine which ones as I swapped my
steering wheel and my iCarsoft won't clear it
and nobody within 100 miles that could do it.
So if you find one that does, let us know,
