W203/CL203 Aftermarket Wheel Thread - All you want to know

I've spent about a days worth looking at about every pic and thread here and can not find a nice 18" wheel that has a decent size lip that does NOT require spacers to clear the '06 brakes. I love the look of Bremma's but can not go with 19's on our crappy streets and the 18's have no lip at all. I'm sure that HRE or some other big $$$ company could custom make somethig but I'm trying to stay under $2k for rims. The NZO Corsa's are cool but need spacers.
What am I missing?

Whatever research you did, it wasn't enough reading because there are a ton of people on these boards that have 18's w/ big brakes that don't need spacers. The MOST important factor would be to get the proper offset (which has been discussed several times).

FEELER: VMR V715 19" wheels Group Buy ~ $1k per set
***Before anyone asks, I have approved this potential group buy with super moderators Mr. Vanos and Drexappeal.***
Velocity Motoring (VMR Wheels) has just released their latest design, the V715, for BMW and Audi applications. They are willing to custom make sets for Mercedes fitment (including custom offsets and larger center bore for use with MB center caps) with a minimum order of 10 sets. I am trying to determine the level of interest before posting the actual group buy, so I wanted to put all the information they gave me here, get all questions answered, and get a feel for how many people would be interested. Hopefully we can make this happen!
Group Buy Pricing
10+ sets: $900 (Super Silver) - lighter silver color
10+ sets: $1000 (Hyper Silver) - darker silver color (pictured above)
Size: 19x8.5"F and 19x9.5"R
Offset: custom - I'm thinking 28ET in front and 35ET in back, perfect for c/o and BBK fitment
Lips: 1.75"F and 2.5"R
Center Caps & Lug Bolts: Included
ETA: July/Aug
*OPTIONAL* Tires: Tire Rack price + $70 mount/balance
Shipping: $99 to US, $150 to Canada (wheel only); Add $50 for tires
I have tried to cover all FAQ's that people seem to ask during wheel group buys, but please ask if you have any other questions and I will try to get them answered. I know many people will want custom finishes, especially black and gunmetal, but so far these are the only two finishes available so you'd have to get the centers repainted/powdercoated on your own.

35ET Rear, 19" x 9.5" is perfect,
28ET Front, 19" x 8.5"? Will these stick out a bit?
I have 35ET w/ 8.5" wide wheels for the front and they are perfect, matching my 35ET w/ 9.5" wide wheels for my rear.

EDIT: Ask Jose or Drex...they'll tell you the 28ET should be perfect. At one point, Jose was even running 25ET on his W203 in order to have plenty of c/o clearance. IMO, anything higher than 30ET is asking for problems with coilovers. It's pretty well known that you have to go 30 or less to even think about making it work with an aggressive drop.

I think so too. The absolute highest I'd consider going up front is 30ET because that's what I have now with very minimal clearance between my tire and the coils.

Exactly...these make a great daily set of wheels for the price. I haven't heard anything regarding wheel weight, but I'm sure they won't be very light since they're 1pc cast. I'm assuming they won't be bricks though, because of the thin spoke, fairly open mesh design.
