W203/CL203 Aftermarket Wheel Thread - All you want to know
1 - 12MM
1 - 20MM
I think the 12 should cut it in the front but the 20 should be way to large ya?
Also...I needed a small spacer in the rear to prevent runbbing...5MM or so should cut this???
Im lost....once againnnn

Anyone have any further input? Sorry for all these posts and I'm attempting to do as many 'trial and error' ways I can...I now have the different size spacers and I'm going to run down to my tire place and see how these may work...
20 MM in Front way to large?
and 12MM in Rear...way to big as well?
Also, where can I find longer lug bolts or further hardware??
You guys dont know how much I appreciate the help! You're saving me a lot of time and headaches for the most part! Thanks again!!!
I just want my rimsss onnnnn!!!!!

12mm is going to be way to big with your ET32 offset on the front 8.5 wheels. I would suggest a custom 8mm or less.
did you put the wheel on and physically measure the missing space that would allow you to clear the caliper?
to tell you, my Axis Phin was 19x8.5 ET32 and I had the wheel centerbore machined so that it could fit a hubcentric 8mm spacer on it. The front wheel was flush with the fender, BUT the tires was sticking out and that is with a ET24. The car only had RENNtech springs back then, so it wasn't that low, but if I had gone any lower I would've run into serious problems. I have a picture somewhere I'll look it up and post it for you.
to run 12mm with your ET32 offset is completely stupid period.
here is that pic...can't find the original, but you can see the tire's sticking out

19x8.5 et35 with 235/35 is hitting the Tein's. It appears that from reading I need about an 8mm spacer....which is not standard. I'm not sure if I should do an 8mm anyway from wheeladapter.com or just go with a standard 10mm from H&R for example. I also have the option of swapping out my 235's for 225's since I haven't driven on them yet.
I'm just trying to find balance between clearing the coilovers and not sticking out or rubbing on the outer fender.
I had a conversation with TruTaing who has 225's with et28 and his car rubs the inner fender on the outside, but clears the coilover. he suggested an 8mm for me. but if he rubs with 225 and et28, i would think i'm going to rub with 235 or 225 and et27. yet there are some here that are runnign et28 with 235's and no rubbing...i just don't understand...

if you are rubbing on the coilover, does it rub on the knuckles or the shock? if it is rubbing on the knuckles you can raise the front up a little so that it clears. if it rubs on the shocks than I would suggest a 3mm.
if you run a 10mm you will have the front wheel like the picture of mine with the Axis.

when the tire was hitting the coil, there was about a 1/4" gap between the wheel and brake rotor face.

and do you think i should swap out the 235's for 225's for a little more clearance? perhaps you assumed using the 225's...

you need to turn you wheel and look at the spacing on the inside.
doesn't matter what the design of the wheel is ET35 on any 8.5 width rims is still ET35. If your wheel clears the caliper at ET35 that means your wheel most likely doesn't have a lip design or it has one of those ] shape spokes. The spoke distance to the rotor has nothing to do with how much distance there is between the wheel and the shock/perch/springs which ever you are rubbing on.
like I've mentioned above. ET28-31 is the offset used by the 3 major tuners when they put 19x8.5 wheels onto the W203. They don't rub on the coilovers.
you can go down to this height like my car without rubbing on the perch or springs with ET28 offset. If your car sits lower than mine than yes, it would be better for you to swap out the 235 for 225.

now, as you state, i can raise it up until the perch is adjacent to the tire and the last coil is just above the tire, then a 5mm spacer would work i think, but then i'm not sure the car will have the stance i want. For example, I like how your car sits in the big pic, but I want it a bit lower...more like your sig pics. that tells me that:
5mm w/235 wont clear
5mm with a 225 might clear
7-8mm with a 235 might clear
7-8mm with a 225 will clear
10mm with a 225 or 235 will stick out too far
As I mentioned, I can get the 225's for basically free as a return for my 235's. all I have to do is pay for shipping one way....about $40. Is it worth it to be safe? What's the disadvantage(s)?
I just don't see that they will fit without the front wheel sticking out way past the fender. I hope Albert will have some good laughs while dangling a smoke on his mouth.
Do you have more profile pics of this car? Are those Monoblock S's in Black? If you have more pics please email me at kiamcoj@yahoo.com as Im looking to do the same. TIA

I'm riding on the stock 2004.5 sport suspension. Any help would be appreciated guys. Also how much did you guys usually spend on tires for 19's?

Secondly, 225/255 or 235/265 are common set-ups. i run 225/265 because i wanted my car low in the front and just couldn't get it where i wanted it with 235's (they were rubbing the coilovers). the other thing is that my fronts are et35, so with a 235, a 10mm spacer was too much and a 5mm spacer wasn't enough. with your et32's, if you clear the brakes w/o spacers and have the stock supsension, you should be fine with 235's. the 235/265 set-up will def fill the rim up more, and have slighter bigger sidewalls...but not sure you would be able to see the difference on the rim standing there looking at the car with 225/255 vs 235/265. as for the rear, et36 with 265 and stock suspension should work fine, however, as ^^^ said above, a lot depends on lowering the car.
225/255 is a safer bet all around, on all accounts, to avoid any rubbing at all.

Thanks for the great info jfabes. I want it to also keep an aggressive stance, like the front be lower than the rear. I'm sure the tire combo would make the car look like that, right? Does anyone have any pictures with a 2004.5 C230 with sport stock suspension running 19's?
