for our lug bolt thread, 12 x 1.5, you need at least 6.5 turns (at least according to H&R). in most cases with 3-5mm spacers, you can get that or more with a standard lug that the rims come with. for anything over 5mm, you will def need longer bolts. that being said, if you don't know if your bolts are long enough, get new ones, its not worth the risk.

Let's see pics of the wheels so we can determine if lip size, spoke design/thickness, or all of the above are what's causing the problem.

or this

anyway, the Ultraleggera for MB doesn't come in 18x9. you'll have to settle for 18x8 like everyone else. run a 10-15mm spacer in the rear and you are set.

I was trying to keep as similar as possible than stock ET and wide to conserve the stock staggered look.

The ultraleggera are availabel in which ET? (for the 18x8) and with which tire size they have to be used? (I'm stuck with the 225x40F and 245x35 or 255x35R, other sizes are illegal here in my car)

Any pics in silver finish?

Thanks

the ultraleggera's ET35 18x8. typically people run 225/40/18 on the front and 255/35/18. The C55 however has 245/35/18, so either one works. in this case the 245 would be better for the 8" width.

you can run 235 and 265 with smaller profile sidewall., but i wouldn't run 265 on the 8".

haven't seen anyone with these in silver. most are in black.

there is a dramatic difference in shedding weight from the rims. you get better turn in response, less weight at each corner of the car means better handling, better acceleration because you are spinning less weight, and better braking. all of this may be small change, but you will definitely be able to tell.

Why using 18 and 19"???
How much do they weight?

I can't find the sizes and ETs available on BBS website, any where to see it?

My choice for now: OZ ultraleggera, BBS RA, BBS CV

that's a typo...lol it's 18x8.5 and 18x9.5.

the RA is discontinued btw. some ppl may sell them used from Audi guys tho. Vadim had it, but only one front and one rear are still good. c_brabus also got hit and run on the freeway and spun his car into the wall which left the whole front end destroyed, so only two rear ones are good on his car still. lol

those were ET30 front and ET32 rear i think. i went to pick it up with him.

Those should work just fine. Let's revisit if you decide to get coilovers and drop it extremely low.

Though I had some rubbing with wide 255 Pirelli's and had to switch to 245's, but that's just because of how low my car is and how wide/square the Pirelli's are cut.

New Wheels!

I finally got my wheels in. Sorry for the bad quality pictures it was off my camera fone and it is snowing out here so I just layed them next to my car to see how they would look in my garage. I'm pretty happy I bought the bright satin finish on these wheels because it totally sets my car off. Ill update with new pics off a better camera when I put these on next week or as soon as it gets warmer out. Tell me what you guys think!

Both are great tires, but I'd go with the 452's because their treadwear rating is slightly higher (300 vs 280). All comes down to preference though.
