this isnt an aftermarket wheel question but how large (width tire) can i put on a stock wheel C55 for the rear? i believe its 18x8.5 and its using a 245 atm but its so easy to break traction.

you can probably fit a 255/35 on there.

Wheel Question Please Help

Ok so I have a 2005 c230 Kompressor LOVE IT!!! I recently became owner of sweet 19" wheels. There is only one issue, the front rims will not fit do to the brake caliber by little less then half an inch..

Question to your experts is should I use adapters for the front wheels? Or should I give it up and sale this set and purchase the exact fit? HELP!

what is the offset on the wheels? Some wheel designs will not work at all, others can be made to fit with spacers.

Ge you some 10mm H&R hub centric spacers then they will clear

The part numbers are 20556659 for the front and 2055665 for the rear. I just got done doing the same thing that should fix you right up.

ooo, maybe Frank can chime in but if you slap a 10mm spacer on, you'll be at a 25mm offset. Might hit your fender.

fo sho....he posted a few weeks ago a pic with et24 and the wheel was about flush but the tire was sticking out....looked funky imo and you can't lower it very much. et27-28 is about the most aggressive i've seen that looks okay.

Light Wheels!??

Considering to buy some more light wheels than the stock ones, but no clue what to buy...

Till now I was stucked with stock (AMG) wheels but now, I want some performance upgrades, and I know that wheels make an huge diference.

Any sugestions in stagerred 18"?

PS: I'm looking on OZ Ultraleggera or Superleggera, but no clue yet on prices!
Don't want to spend my car value on some wheels

Thanks

I have Ultraleggeras and love 'em. Though no staggered sizes are available for Benzes. A little over 18 lbs each. I don' think that Supers are as light, if memory serves.

AMG rims are basically bricks - I have no idea why people view them as "performance" rims.

What if i slip on 7mm hubcentric lorinser spacers, would my tires rub on the fender?

Im going to get 225/35 up front and 265/30 rear ... I dont think i need the adapters for the rear, but should i put them on since the frnt wheels are geeting them? Thanks

i guess you'll have to determine of 7mm is enough to get the rims to clear the calipers. i think pep boys sells 3/8" and 1/4" universal spacers for around $7. go pick up one or both and see if your rims clear. if they do, order a set of good hubcentric ones. as for the lorinser spacers, those aren't just made for any rim, they are made for lorinser rims. are your rims hubcentric? in other words, is the center bore 66.6?

as for the rear, no need to run them. in fact, with et35 and a 265/30 you may still rub if the car is lowered. i do...just a bit on the passenger side.

There are some staggered 18" set-ups, though not many.

Some sites to look at besides tirerack and discount tire:
www.victoriatire.com
www.superbuytires.com
www.elementwheels.com
www.jlevi.com

....and of course ebay....just be careful

If you want staggered and light, you'll pay big $$$, you may need to hit up:

Gaiex, couple of pics, though sorry - not great ones. Mine are 18x8, powdercoated charcoal. Currently, they have either silver or black.

And one of the silver before I had it powdercoated:

The wheels are beatiful, and very similiar to the new AMG type VI or VII I don't remenber, but the AMG ones weights the same as mine, only old Type III weights less...

The search continue

Make sure that you're getting the Mercedes drill pattern; I know that for BMW, they have 9", but Luke at Tirerack just confirmed for me the other day in the wheel/tire forum here that it's not possible to get 9", at least in the US.
