you go up in diameter of the wheel, but you reduce the height of the sidewall, effectively keeping the overall diameter of the tire+wheel the same size. If the proper tire sizes are used, there will be little to no difference in speedometer reading, and no issues with ESP.

Okay, that's what I had thought. Thanks!

thanks for the input!

oh yeah, here are the wheels i am looking at, tell me what you think:

Sleewell - Your ride quality will be effected. There is no way a 30 or 35 profile sidewall has the same give as a 50.

What matters is does it bug you. It would bug me - so it's a matter of taste. You have an offer to go have a look. Take it and see if you would be happy with the more harsh ride.

Even on standard suspension I can't stand the ride a 19" gives you. Some tyres are worse than others too.

from the way it looks if you don't have the sport brakes or bbk they should fit, but I'd contact them first to verify the bolt pattern and spec first since in the first description they listed " Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.50 or 5 x 114.3 " and not 5x112.

2006 C280 4Matic
Question What type of wheels does my uncle have?

Hi guys. I have a unique situation. My uncle purchased a 2006 MB C280 4Matic a couple of years ago. It came with these wheels and Michelin PS2s, so he has been having to change back and forth from summer tires to winter tires. He is a bit older, so he does not want to deal with this anymore. They have some curb rash, so I will get them refinished.

How much do you think they are worth? They are 18" wheels. The tires are 225, so I would guess 18x8 or 18x7.5. They are non-staggered.

Also, if you could let me know what model they are or where I can find out the specs, that would be great.

Thanks,
Vik

Seems like TSW - Bremmas to me

with 225 and non stretched tire they are probably 7.5, although I am not sure if there are any 7.5 Bremma styles out there.

If you have them refinished and depending on the tire wear I think you could get around $1000.

Thanks for the help kickR. I looked around and I think they must be 18x8 TSW Bremmas. I thought they would be OEM AMG wheels since the dealer told my uncle they were worth $3000. I guess its the typical dealer, so they scammed him I should go over there and yell at them.

OEM wheels would have AMG written on them.

They are either TSW bremmas, or Sport edition ST4. Check tirerack for specs on the ST4's

Oh, I see. Thanks. I think they are TSW Bremmas because the ST4s have different centers.

Those look like Monarch wheels. Sonic MS up in the Bay area is having a sale on them, they posted on the other mb site. You can also try calling Monarch they are located in Buena Park, CA. They just had a gtg/bbq and were having a pretty big sale this past weekend, you might want to check and see if they still are.... Not sure about sizing though...

why would u need 10mm spacers for i just purchased my h&r coilovers. but havent put em on yet. i believe my set up is the same as urs. 8.5 with an ET35. the rims barely clear right now without spacers. but why would u need spacers if u have h&r c/o? just wondering. cuz u got me thinking now.
