I just mounted my rims and I was wondering how many mm should the lug bolts go into the hub?

I have the C7 Mercedes rims and i measured 17mm into the hub...Let me know your guys thoughts.

The rule of thumb is a minimum of 6 full threads. Don't know what that is in mm. Too far on the rear will foul the parking brake mechanism.

C7 wheels assuming you got the one for the W203 they're just direct swap. you can use your stock bolts for it.

Sorry I didn't clarify, but I currently have the C7 wheels on my w203.

I took the rims off and measured 17mm from the hub of the rim to the end of the bolt shank. But if 6 full threads is what is rule of them, then I will follow.

Are you using your stock lug bolts? On stock C7 wheels? 17mm into the hub is a bit longer than I recall.

Mercedes C-class (W203) stock lug bolts for OEM alloy wheels:
M12x1.5 thread, R12 ball seat, 39.9 mm shank, 17 mm Hex

On basically all Mercedes with stock wheels (and stock lug bolts),... you need to turn bolt for about 6 rotations to get the suggested 80 ft lb torque. This is a handy rule if you need to mount the wheels but don't have a torque wrench around. Since the threads are M12x1.5,... 6 rotations is about 9mm,... add the 2-3mm tip of the bolt that just guides it in,... and you have about 11-12mm of the lug bolt that should go into the hub. Of course a bit more is better than a bit less!

Is your 17mm into the hub too much? Just measure how much deep you can go into the hub without hitting the rear parking brake mechanism. Most likely not a problem.

I got the wheels on and no tire rubbing with 3 people in car. Just like you stated, got the 5mm spacer with bolts to clear caliper. Front wheels did fit without the spacer but they where extremely close to calipers. Now i'll work on replacing those ugly frosted headlights. Thanks Frank.

Hey all I am looking for some 18's for my coupe, saw these on the forum in the classified section. Wanted to know what people thought and to double check fitment for my coupe. From what I understand is that these will fit on my coupe, but can I use stock lug nuts from my 16's?

so i found a local seller selling the linea corse lemans with tires

19x8.5 F 19x9.5 R offset 35 on all 4.
225/35/19 F 235/35/19 R

am i looking at 5mm spacers in the front and 8mm in the back?

so i just put on my rims and of course, there was clicking from the parking brake...17mm into the hub is too long

im going to go back to using my 26mm shank bolts to knock off 4mm.

i hope 13mm isn't too long still to go into the hub.

god i hope i didn't ruin the parking brake mechanism...i rolled about 1/4 and babied it back home.

13mm into hub should be fine,... normally its about 11-12mm into hub.

I'm a bit confused,... you're using factory C7 wheels, right? That's the C-class Evolution package wheels with 7 spokes. I'm under the impression all C-class (w203) stock alloy wheels uses lug bolts with M12x1.5 thread, R12 ball seat, 39.9 mm shank, 17 mm Hex. Thus I'm wondering where you get lug bolt with 26mm shank from?

You're saying the 17mm into hub is from lug bolt with 30mm shank? Are you sure you're measuring shank correctly from the base of the ball seat to the threaded end of the bolt? Are you sure you're using Mercedes-Benz factory C7 alloy wheels?

Where are you getting these lug bolts from?

Your parking brake mechanism should be OK. It's when you lock everything up solid & try & drive that it creates mayhem.

all W203 wheels including AMG wheels for W203 shouldn't require any different bolts.

Sorry for not clarifying but I had the C7 rims (7 spoke) with the ball seat lug bolts with about 39mm shank (base of ball seat to end of thread). The ball seated bolts extended more than 17mm from the back of the rim to the end of thread.

The rims I just slapped on are the LC Lemans. I bought 30mm shank RAD bolts and they stick out about 17mm from the back of the rim to the end of the thread.

I don't know why the OEM ball seat didn't click when the lug bolts stuck out further from behind the rim then the set up I have currently.

I'm going to try popping on the 26mm shank bolts that I also have on the LC Lemans to see if the clicking goes away but it is barely 6 threads into the hub (if that).

That so called clicking might not be from the lug bolts going too deep into the hub and hitting the parking brake.

Are you sure those LC Lemans have ball seated wheel holes??? Most aftermarket wheels are cone seated wheel holes! Make sure the seat on the wheel holes and those on your lug bolts matches,... and if they got ***** ,... make sure they're the right size (R12, R13, R14).

That's the first thing i took into mind when I got the rims, if they were ball or cone. The LC Lemans are cone seated so I got these below:

RAD Lug Bolt 12mmx1.5, 26mm Shank, Cone Seat, 17mm Hex

What I don't understand is how come there wasn't any clicking with the C7 rims when the bolts extended about 18-19mm from behind the rim. I hope I didn't eff anything up...

I got an offset of 35 all around but bought 5mm all around to clear the inner wheel well rub and just wanted to push it out farther from the front strut.

i just switched to 26mm shank lug bolts and the clicking went away...whew

So you are running 5mm spacers - YES? If so now you need to make sure that you are achieving 6 full threads into the hub for safety reasons.

So your offset is now approx 30 - which is ideal for these cars?

Yes, I'm running 5mm spacers and yes i have 6 full threads. I might even try the 28mm shank bolts just to get a bit more thread.
