hi all,
i tried on both buttons the panic button and nothing happens! also, i didnt get to try tunnel mode in my old climate unit but got the digital climatronic and tunnel mode does not work (have windows and sunroof open, while driving, hold the recirculate button down to activate right? Thanks for any input as i plan to make appointment with dealer this evening.

yep tried holding for about 4 sec. also went up to door IR sensor, away, close range, nada! u'd think they test that stuff before deliverying!!!

Tunnel mode does not work on 2002 coupes. As for the panic button, do you have the car set so that it chirps when you lock it? If it is in the Netherlands setting the panic button will not work.

Lynn: I've been away for a while. Was it confirmed that this is now working in the 2003MY W203? If so, Is there any way to resolve the issue in the 2002's?

i have a 2002 and my tunnel mode works fine,and like stated above if yours chirps then your panic is disabled

I think tunnel mode works for the coupes, the windows only, not the sunroof. Sunroof needs "one-touch" close for tunnel mode to function (like the sedans). Old topic.

Frank W - tunnel mode is a feature where you press the "recirc" button for 2 seconds. It closes all open windows and sunroof (on sedans). If you press and hold recirc again for 2 seconds (if the ignition hasn't been turned off), the windows and roof (again sedans) return to their original positions. Great feature for "all close" when shutting down...

It's called "tunnel mode" because there are (apparently) many tunnels in Europe. You can use the feature to avoid fumes, etc. when going through them.

My 2003 closes the roof. But that was not the question, just more of a 'Hey this now works on the new models'.

Question for you -- does the sunroof switch also have a one touch close position on your 2003 coupe? On the 2002's that I tried there was no one touch close engagement position for the switch.

I had a 2003 Coupe loaner before. There was a one touch to half open, and 2nd one touch to fully open, but there was no one touch fully close feature.

my 2003 coupe has 1 touch 1/2 open, 2 touch full open, no one touch close. my tunnel mode works for open/close of windows and roof.

Go and have the dealer fix it. I have a 2002 Coupe and in the beginning my sunroof would not move when pressing the re-circulation button. I went to the dealer and they fixed it. Now everything works as advertised.

Care to tell us what he did? Ive never heard of the panoramic roof closing with tunnel mode on the 02.

Well, it was done with some other work they had to do. I just write what I've got on my worksheet from the dealer:

Sunroof will not open. Also rattles when driving over bumps
and window shade will not operate at all.
Hooked up SDS found codes B1075.B1066
Checked actual values not initialized.
Cleared codes
Sunroof blind operates as designed
Lubed sunroof rails
Operated 15 times ok

They fixed my tunnel mode at the same time they fixed my sunroof. Don't know if the codes have anything to do with it....
