Will 225/45/16s fit on a C240 sedan that came with 205/55/16s without rubbing?
I have some Yoko A520s (new) lying in my garage gathering dust in that size.

There is no problem with fitment of these tires. The sport package in 01 and 02 came with 225/50-16. Originally posted by bora

Be aware before you mount them that your speedo and odometer will be off because you are mounting a smaller tire on your vehicle. Factory wheel/tire diameter is 24.9". What you are wanting to put on has a diameter of 24". The other side effect you will notice is that the fender to tire gap, both front and rear, will be even more pronounced with those smaller tires.
Thanks for the quick reply, if I am right, the speedo will be off around 3% or 2.1 miles at 75 mph. I think I can live with that, but the additional miles recorded on the odometer may be an issue.
I guess I may end up selling the tires that I have and getting the 225/50/16s.

I have 225/50/16 on my coupe. From what i could find there isnt any speedo error in those. I would get some 225/50's if i were you.

actually the speedo is already off by 2-3% percent no matter what at 75 mph. Changing the tire to incorrect size is just making it worse. The digital in the display should be more accurate than the analog needle. Last time i was at 155 speed limit, the analog showed near 160, but the digital shows 155.Originally posted by bora

I hope you were driving that fast at either a race track or at an autobahn.
Triple digit speed at public roads is **hardly** safe.

i know it's not safe, but it was 3 in the morning on the freeway 6 miles of straight stretch. No car found within 2 miles front and back. Just couldn't resist, my brother was driving actually. Once we got to the speed limiter we shut down and back to driving 80 mph.Originally posted by bora
