I think I've posted this esewhere, but the best I've gotten on the highway is about 26.5. That was maintaining around 75mph average in moderate traffic.

My normal stop-n-go commuter traffic is around 20-22mpg...dipping into the teens if I have a heavy foot...~75K miles, and no powertrain mods.

thats about right..i get 22mpg with my heavy 19'' rims and 50lb sub.

There so many different variables when it comes to mpg. i think these mpg threads are kinda useless, unless your comparing your results with someone within the same area.

+1 Just standardising two supposedly identical vehicles on the Dyno in identical conditions is close to impossible - much less the variables experienced on the road & driver to driver. People don't realise for every degree change in inlet air temperature - the difference this makes to fuel consumption, much less all the other variables,

27 mile long mine shaft, hmm, don't have those here but in NYC they have them, called subways I think. My best mileage in my C230 was over 90 mpg within 16 miles but I pushed the wrong button on my cell phone camera and it didn't take. I'll see if I can do it again tommorrow and post the pic.

Yep! it's certainly possible if you have the right piece of road & keep right off the throttle much of the time. Was teasing you with some colloquial nonesense

2004.5 C320 Sport Sedan (Metallic Pewter 723) & 2005 ML350 Special Edition (Alabaster White 960)
On my 10 mile commute to work (each way) I average by the end of the week somewhere between 26-28 mpg. Not bad I'd say. I'm not a lead foot and there are not too many stop lights along my route.
