26.6 average, 22 in town, 31 on the highway, though refer to my threads as of late having issues with my performance. I'm doing a plug and O2 sensor swapout over the weekend.

i average about 33 mpg on my c320 on my drive to work for 25 miles. I do a lot of hypermiling though. I put it in neutral on downhills and average 65-70 mph. i should post a pic when I do it.

I do that with my blazer! I used to do it in the Benz, but then I read somewhere that it could be bad for your trans. (automatic), so I stopped doing it.

Good man - you did the 4.54609 l/imp gallon check!! I too would cry - Yeah I know Kris is in SoCal - helped him troubleshoot & coil & lead failure a couple of weeks back until 4am in the morning my time! I don't know the setup on USA cars. I have 2 choices on mine - Litres/100Km or Miles per imperial gallon

I would like to hear from other experienced people on the forum in this regard. The reason this practice was problematic with old NA auto transmissions was the fact that the oil pump drive in the transmission was disengaged by doing this. Thus crucial parts of the transmission were starved of oil. This does not happen with a Benz transmission. So can this be a problem mechanically?
That said, with some racing experience the very thought of disengaging positive drive & connection to the engine is a frightening thought. For total control of the vehicle you need positive drive and power instantly available. I would never condone this practice for this reason.

You either have a VERY heavy foot or a problem - before I say this explain the typical service your car sees.. Does it do very short trips and never fully warm up?

due to another post of his, i am thinking his car might have other issues. reading a post of his in the sprint booster thread- his car is also burning some oil.
