Is it a direct fit in the W203 - No mods required?

programming i think is a grand or so, and switch DAS or MOST, which is replacing alot of stuff including your center console and steering wheel and other things. Simply put if not ready to drop a few grand don't think about. this is for 01-04 switching to +05 or the w209 cluster. I thought about it once, long time ago and moved on. I rather spend the money with other things. If you want more info search the MOST to DAS or whatever it is by Sunil (on board is his wither SUNILP or SUNMAN), he made a thread covering it.

Are you taking about D2B and MOST? That's the fiber bus. The cluster does not use the fiber bus. I believe you are partially correct about needing to upgrade one of the communication buses but D2B / MOST has nothing to do with it.

pre 05 CLKs used D2B although the cluster looked just like 05+ W203 and W209. thus, the retrofit is pretty easy.

sunil went nuts and converted D2B to MOST.

Yes, I am bringing this thread back from the dead.

I was curious - has anyone sent their cluster to BBA to get the work done on it? Just started to warm up here, and my display is getting even worse than it was last summer. If someone could post up their experience, I'd appreciate it, before I send mine off. Thanks.

only heard about BBA when someone mentioned it last time. probably cost the same as you getting a used cluster and swap out the screen?

I know that valexv got a used cluster off ebay for $50 (I think); hard to come by, though - did look every so often. My hope is that BBA would put a new screen in for that $225, which should work longer than me putting in a used one. I'm going to have to call BBA and try to find out exactly what they do; I know when I talked to them last year, they were vague about what they actually do.
