Let's just say that you should sleep with one eye open for a while.
No, I just put on my first coat of clear on infected's tails after putting on a light tint on the lower two thirds (really hate the pinkish hue in the middle). So assuming I like how things are tomorrow, I'll swap out the tails tomorrow and hope the spoiler looks ok with the hatch part only. If not, then I'd lock up my car in an enclosed garage every night if I were you.

Just an update to an old thread.
Installed a new hatch due to previous body damage and recent window breakage....

Total cost of new these days will run you about 300 per caliper,
120 per rotor and ~75 ish for a set of Akebono pads.

C230 V6 SportCoupe 2007 swapped to M272E35
Mate, do you still have both? I also have the rentech style spoiler but had to remove it because it scratched my tail lights, I bought brand new headlights now and removed the spoiler temporally, but how did you manage for it to not scratch them?

Yiup I have 2 2002 C230's,
One with 263K (Carly) and the otrher (Inga) I purchased last May with
36.5K miles. The 263K one runs great and has no CEL's or
mailfunctionss on the dash (not by chance though)
but it has an external leak in the head gasket.
Wisps of steam coming out from under the hood and
top up coolant on a regular basis. Not healthy to breath that crap.
So I don't drive it much. Backup vehicle. Took it out yeesterday for a little
jaunt up into the hills though.
It wiill likely cost more to fix than the car is worth sadly.
And I don't feel comfortable DIY;ing. Also needs engine mounts.
But other than that in good shape, all maintained.
Newer one is great. I swapped AMG/HR sway bars to Inga with stock springs and
Shiocks. Big improvement
Also swapped updated tail lights. So far headlights are the same but with LED's.
Spoiler I sold years ago.
Yes, it would rub the tail lights. It put felt on the inside of the
spoiler edges to prevent scratching. I think I got the felt from a
lamp store, stick on. Came in sheets. Also used to stop plastic
bits in the hatch from squeaking.

C230 V6 SportCoupe 2007 swapped to M272E35
I temporally removed it because it did hurt the tail lights a lot, anyways, have it on the side and bought new facelift headlights from Hella also.
I had a c200k coupe which I rebuilt completely also because of a head gasket leak, I got it earlier than the state you are now probably because I saw some repetitive steak on the exhaust and got the cam in the cylinder to inspect it and found the last 3rd cyl was having some strange humidity/water inside and the spark plug was starting to have that dusty look you have when burning coolant
Then sold it, and two years later I bought a v6 c230 SportCoupe again, and bought an M272E35 and did the swap. I work on the programming and coding of MBs mostly, like 90% of what I do is MB the rest BMW. For the M272 I made a kit to delete the SAI (in stainless, now the shop sells them I sell the tune), we make a mod also to do a flaps delete on the intake manifold (I know about the mixed opinions but that intake manifold is ridiculously expensive so no all customers are willing to put over 1k which is the local for one of those OEM, and the Chinese one doesn't last), for my personal one (and my GLK300 too) I'm using the SLK350 roadster intake manifold with the M273 TB.
Anyways, back to the tail lights, not sure if I'm going to put the spoiler back on mine, the reason I got it in there (other than it looks good) was because the acrylic of the trunk lid was starting to have that peeling issue (which I also had on my previous coupe). Now I see two options on this coupe, I may get a low profile ducktail spoiler (the thin ones, not the big ones) or may lose some sleep and try to to a polishing, clear coat and then some protection on top, but this last option could be really good, or really really bad.
If you need anything with programming or coding the coupe let me know.
