Post Delivery Questions

Just curious about your delivery experience.

1. How soon after you took delivery of your car were you mailed
a survey from MB ?
2. How much did you pay the dealer for transporation/delivery
of your new vehicle ?

I've had my car for two weeks now. They called me yesterday to say that they were sending out a survey. Paid the $645 destination fee.

Delivery charge

Viper, I took delivery of my C230K only two days ago so I have received no questionnaire yet. When I paid for the car I was told that the delivery/transportation charge had been increased by $30A and that this was an "across the board increase for everyone". When I snarled (actually it came out as a whimper) my saleslady magnanimously rescinded the increase "since you've been waiting so long" (since July 7th). I paid MSRP and the dealership threw in a Noah car cover, which I had been prepared to pay for so that was nice.

We pay $1395 in Canada for destination. Yeah I know our dollar is worth a lot less etc. but we really get shafted. Can't figure out why the destination charge for an Audi is only $400. Seems to me they are both made in Germany. Something not right. Still waiting for the survey. Dealer is really anxious about me filling it out and wants me to bring it in so he can help me. What a joke.

That's funny! I guess he wants to make sure you give him top ratings!

I could never understand destination charges. Do you pay a destination charge when you buy something at the mall? No, it's worked into the markup/margin.

I have to say that so far, my dealer has done an outstanding job at making sure I'm satisfied with my purchase. They have called me at least 4 times in the past two weeks, and today I received a "thank you" gift pack of fruit and chocolates. It's something that doesn't cost a whole lot for them, but it works (at least for me)

received my survey about two weeks after I bought the car. I just paid the regular destination charges. I was taken care of very well at Bill Ussery Mercedes of Coral Gables, FL. They even sent me a survey pre-filled so that I would understand how to fill it out and have phoned me several times to ask if I have any further questions in the operation of the vehicle and so forth. Great experience.

Just picked up car yesterday, so no survey yet. Delivery charge was $645, per the 10/17 sales agreement. In CT, dealers add a "conveyance fee", and in this case it was $250, but I was OK with that since my price was still a good discount from MSRP.

Haven't gotten candy or fruit yet, but the car was delivered with a full tank of gas (first ever for that) and complementary winter mats.
